It is crazy to think that we are forced to debate the gender of God Almighty in this world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I didn\u2019t grow up in a strict religious household. But I can tell that, over the course of my life and my personal study of scripture, these ideologues missed the point. Maybe they could use more Sunday School and less fake outrage. One only has to remember the 1999 movie \u2018Dogma\u2019 starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon as fallen angels that depicted God as a woman played by not-ironic at-all Alanis Morrissette.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"subscribe\" class=\"email-signup inarticle\">\n<h4>Support Conservative Voices!<\/h4>\n<h5><strong>Sign up to receive the latest<\/strong> political news, insight, and commentary delivered directly to your inbox.<\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">An argument by many on the left side of this argument claim that referring to God as exclusively male is what drives a lot of discrimination and sexism against women. Add to that the recent surge in gender ideology that you can identify as any number of over 50 genders; the scripture gets even more complicated for the left.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In response to this societal fad, Rev. Joanna Stobart from the Diocese of Bath and Wells has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-gb\/news\/uknews\/gender-neutral-god-considered-by-church-of-england\/ar-AA17cFTD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">asked<\/a> the Church of England to\u00a0<\/span>\u201cdevelop more inclusive language in our authorized liturgy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Reverend is asking the Church to\u00a0<\/span>\u201cprovide more options for those who wish to use authorized liturgy and speak of God in a non-gendered way, particularly, in authorized absolutions where many of the prayers offered for use refer to God using male pronouns.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">However, not everyone sees this issue the same way, thank God.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;It might be easier and less contentious to admit that God doesn&#8217;t actually exist rather than allocate a gender-neutral pronoun. Member of the Archbishop\u2019s Council of the Church of England Rev. Ian Paul <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/02\/08\/church-of-england-might-give-god-gender-neutral-pronouns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">presents<\/a> a masterclass on what God is.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe use of male pronouns for God should not be understood as implying that God is male,\u201d Rev. Paul claims.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Indeed, even a proponent of gender-neutral language can agree that God is neither man nor woman. As Anglican priest Dr. Dorothy Lee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2022-05-08\/should-we-change-gods-pronouns-in-the-bible-liturgy\/101024214\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explains<\/a> <\/span>\u201cThe Bible is quite clear\u2026that both male and female are made in God\u2019s image and that God transcends gender.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So does that mean God is non-binary? No, because that\u2019s a made-up construct based more on personality versus biology.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">But does this argument mean he shouldn\u2019t be referred to as he or God Himself? Not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.abc.net.au\/news\/2022-05-08\/should-we-change-gods-pronouns-in-the-bible-liturgy\/101024214#:~:text=God%2C%20the%20Bible%20and%20gender&#038;text=%22To%20use%20the%20current%20idiom,to%20him%2C%22%20he%20says.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to Anglican Bishop Dr. Michael Stead.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo use the current idiom,\u201d Dr. Stead explains, \u201cGod has told us his preferred pronouns. He is father, so he and him are the appropriate pronouns, and that\u2019s how we ought to relate to him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It seems fair; we should respect God\u2019s preferred pronouns just as the left would demand we respect the made-up pronouns of the trans community.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Well, I&#8217;m not religious either, but as I understand it, God has no biological sex on account of the deity not being material and therefore not made of matter. Hello Mother?\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">To change the gendered language of the Bible would do more than change the \u2018he\u2019 and \u2018him.\u2019 It would also mean changing the numerous references to God as \u2018Father.\u2019\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that God is called \u2018Father\u2019 can\u2019t be substituted by \u2018Mother\u2019 without changing meaning nor can it be gender-neutralized to \u2018Parent\u2019 without loss of meaning,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2023\/feb\/07\/church-of-england-to-consider-use-of-gender-neutral-terms-for-god\">said<\/a>\u00a0<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Reverend Paul.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cFathers and mothers are not interchangeable but relate to their offspring in different ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As a parent, I can tell you that is true. How I engage with my children differs from how my husband engages, and how our children view us is also different.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">That\u2019s not to say we live in an antiquated \u2018traditional\u2019 family structure; quite the contrary. My husband is the primary caregiver of our children, and I am my family\u2019s primary breadwinner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What I provide my children as a mother is still vastly different than what my husband provides as a father. Trust me, I felt the brunt of sexism every day of the 20 years I served in the United States military \u2014 and almost more so once I became a senior leader.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This is because humans are fallible, just as the good Lord intended. Unfortunately, that includes women, who have often been our own worst enemies in the fight for equality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I also think that this argument doesn\u2019t give the women in the Bible enough credit. There are plenty of strong women and mothers who emulate resilience, leadership, and power.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Take Deborah, the female judge that through her leadership and clarity of thought, brought peace to Israel for 40 years. Or Esther, who saved the Jews from destruction, thus ensuring their survival.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">And we can\u2019t forget all the mothers in the Bible who were instrumental in the story of Us:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Elizabeth, mother to John the Baptist<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Hannah, mother to Samuel<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Jochebed mother to Moses<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Leah, mother to Judah<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Rachel, mother to Joseph<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sarah, mother to Isaac<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">These women had to show compassion, trust, faith, sacrifice, dedication, and unwavering love. These are not traits that men can\u2019t or don\u2019t have \u2013 but they are inherent to motherhood, and we must not minimize them.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Church of England is considering using gender neutral terms for God. I believe the idea is if you take away our faith in something larger than ourselves, whether it be God or our love of country and family, then all that\u2019s left is to follow false idols like gender ideology, race ideology, and various other poisonous concepts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Don\u2019t fall for the distractions and train your mind to think more profoundly than just the baseline of the words in the Bible. Perhaps the most crucial figure in the Bible next to God himself is Eve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Many focus on Eve\u2019s disobedience and weakness when she takes a bite of the forbidden fruit, but there is more to this woman than just her poor taste in afternoon snacks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Eve was made from the rib of Adam, not because she was less than Adam, but because she was equal to him and meant to stand by his side, not in his shadow.
