Jackson<\/em>\u201d By preventing the Department of Health and Human Services&#8217;s inability to force drug vendors like CVS and Walgreens to fill, <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33939340\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">fatal abor\u00adtion pills<\/a> \u2014 especially in states where those pills are illegal. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Biden Administration knows that it has no legal authority to institute this radical abortion agenda, so now it\u2019s trying to intimidate every pharmacy in America by threatening to withhold federal funds,\u201d Paxton stated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/paxton-sues-biden-stop-hhs-illegally-forcing-pharmacies-provide-abortion-inducing-drugs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Statement<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s not going to work. Texas and several other states across the country have dutifully passed laws to protect the unborn, and we are <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KenPaxtonTX\/status\/1623103629153509376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">not going to back down<\/a> just because unelected bureaucrats in Washington want to create illegal, extremist federal policies.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It took just weeks for the Supreme Court to release its ruling. <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em> U.S. Department of Health and Human Services made the decision to reopen in June 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/about\/news\/2022\/07\/13\/hhs-issues-guidance-nations-retail-pharmacies-clarifying-their-obligations-ensure-access-comprehensive-reproductive-health-care-services.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Inaugural guidance<\/a> The \u201croughly 60,000 U.S. retail pharmacies,\u201d The claim that refusing fill prescriptions such as abortion pills would violate federal civil right laws was made by HHS. Pharmacies that failed to comply with the Biden administration\u2019s attempt to execute its abortion-on-demand agenda, HHS warned, could lose their federal funding. <\/p>\n<p>This year, the Food and Drug Administration at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/biden-administration-signals-fight-over-medication-abortion-2022-06-25\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">behest<\/a> of the White House, also worked to match the Biden administration\u2019s post-<em>Roe<\/em>\u00a0Activism by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/05\/fda-aids-bidens-abortion-for-all-agenda-by-letting-pharmacies-sell-dangerous-abortion-pill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Slowly reducing its regulation<\/a>\u00a0The abortion pill has many safety issues. <\/p>\n<p>These pills, such as mifepristone or other abortion drugs, are responsible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/article\/2022\/02\/medication-abortion-now-accounts-more-half-all-us-abortions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More than half<\/a>\u00a0of the nation\u2019s abortions, are known to cause a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/full\/10.1177\/23333928211053965\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">500 percent Increase<\/a>\u00a0In abortion-related emergency rooms visits. One longitudinal study showed that nearly 34 percent of all ER visits in 2015 were to emergency rooms within 30 days after a taxpayer-funded abortion. This is despite the fact that there are 17 states with such relaxed abortion laws. Another study found that nearly 34 percent of all ER visits were within 30 days after chemical abortions. \u201cchemical abortion is consistently and progressively associated with more postabortion ER visit morbidity than surgical abortion,\u201d and the\u00a0risks have been <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/30253769\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">increasing\u00a0year after year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now, the FDA and HHS are allowing for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/fda-abortion-pill-mifepristone-cvs-walmart-walgreens-unlikely-stock-2023-1\">CVS, Walgreens<\/a>And others to dispense the<a href=\"https:\/\/journals.sagepub.com\/doi\/full\/10.1177\/23333928211053965\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0dangerous drug<\/a>These numbers can only be expected to increase. <\/p>\n<p>President Joe Biden delivered his State of the Union Address. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2023\/02\/07\/remarks-of-president-joe-biden-state-of-the-union-address-as-prepared-for-delivery\/\">Smeared<\/a> states like Texas for \u201cenforcing extreme abortion bans\u201d Promised to do \u201ceverything we can to protect access to reproductive health care and safeguard patient privacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Texas, however, says the Biden administration\u2019s attempt to do dirty work through federal agencies not only \u201cusurps pharmacies\u2019 duty to comply with Texas law\u201d But \u201cis both procedurally and substantively illegal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether the Biden Administration likes it or not, the question of abortion is up to the<br \/>people\u2019s elected representatives\u2014not unelected bureaucrats,\u201d According to the lawsuit. <\/p>\n<p>Paxton\u2019s office noted in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/paxton-sues-biden-stop-hhs-illegally-forcing-pharmacies-provide-abortion-inducing-drugs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Press release<\/a> Federal anti-discrimination legislation has never been used to make companies take part.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The lawsuit, filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Tuesday, seeks to combat the Biden administration\u2019s &#8216;war against Dobbs v.
