It is also used by the defense secretary, and other top government officials for official travel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe intruder was immediately apprehended and taken into custody,\u201d Hill spoke on Tuesday to Task &#038; Purpose.<\/p>\n<p>Hill stated that no information was available about how the intruder gained access to the base or how many security force airmen responded to the incident. Hill also said that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>JoAnne S. Bass, Chief Master Sergeant Air Force, has stated that her husband was involved after the man entered the base. The tweet didn&#8217;t identify the resident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecurity forces arrived on scene to apprehend the intruder, &#038; law enforcement is investigating the incident,\u201d Tweet from Joint Base Andrews \u201cNo injuries nor property damage reported.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kylene Yumel, a spokesperson for the 316th Wing, declined to identify which resident had discharged a firearm due to privacy concerns.<\/p>\n<p>Commenter <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/AirForce\/comments\/10vow0f\/wow\/?utm_source=share&#038;utm_medium=ios_app&#038;utm_name=iossmf\" rel=\"noopener\">Air Force Reddit page<\/a> speculated on Monday that Bass\u2019 husband had fired warning shots after spotting the intruder.<\/p>\n<p>Air Force spokeswoman Rose Riley declined to say whether or not Rahn Bass was the Joint Base Andrews resident who discharged a firearm, per Joint Base Andrews\u2019 tweet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the incident remains under investigation, we are unable to elaborate on the events that took place beyond the release from the 316 Wing PA [Public Affairs] and CMSAF\u2019s statement,\u201d Riley spoke on Tuesday to Task &#038; Purpose.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time an intruder has managed slip past security at Joint Base Andrews.
