The car runs on coal, in other words.<\/p>\n<p>Some studies show that electric vehicles can even be as efficient as gasoline-powered cars. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/11\/studies-show-the-electric-vehicles-democrats-insist-you-buy-are-worse-for-the-environment-and-lower-quality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">It could get worse <\/a>For the environment, than gasoline-powered vehicles. <\/p>\n<p><strong>[READ: <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/11\/studies-show-the-electric-vehicles-democrats-insist-you-buy-are-worse-for-the-environment-and-lower-quality\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Studies Show The Electric Vehicles Democrats Insist You Buy Are Worse For The Environment And Lower Quality<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>EVs Aren\u2019t Cheap<\/h2>\n<p>In September, the average price of an electric car was $65,291. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kbb.com\/car-advice\/electric-car-faqs\/#:~:text=According%20to%20Cox%20Automotive%2C%20parent,%2448%2C100%20in%20the%20same%20timeframe.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According <\/a>Kelley Blue Book:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kbb.com\/car-news\/average-new-car-price-tops-49500\/#:~:text=Luxury%20a%20Record%20Piece%20of,1%25%20or%20more%20below%20MSRP.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> $1,000 <\/a>This is the average luxury vehicle. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.census.gov\/library\/publications\/2022\/demo\/p60-276.html#:~:text=Highlights,and%20Table%20A%2D1).\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According <\/a>to the U.S. Census Bureau last year, median household income was just below $71,000, meaning an electric vehicle costs a year\u2019s worth of wages for many Americans. Add inflation to the mix, driven by reckless government spending to encourage rich consumers to buy electric cars, and the average American wouldn\u2019t dream of buying a Tesla any time soon. <\/p>\n<h2>EV Subsidies are Gifts for the Rich<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-inflation-reduction-act-is-anything-but-spending-power-supply-demand-imbalance-restrictions-regulation-11659289812\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Named in an obscure way<\/a> The federal Inflation Reduction act extended $7,500 in federal subsidies to purchase an electric car. This brings the price to $58,000. Ford responded to these new subsidies in August. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.caranddriver.com\/news\/a40848342\/ford-f-150-lightning-price-increase\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">raising <\/a>The price of the electric pickups. <\/p>\n<p>Researchers at UC-Berkeley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.journals.uchicago.edu\/doi\/full\/10.1086\/685597#:~:text=The%20bottom%20three%20income%20quintiles,about%2090%25%20of%20all%20credits.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Find it <\/a>In 2016, that \u201cclean\u201d The upper class has historically benefited from energy tax credits, with 90 percent of all electric vehicle credits enjoyed by those at the top income quintile. <\/p>\n<p>The massive subsidies at the expense of, say, a Wyoming rancher who could use a new pickup don\u2019t even cover what\u2019s needed to develop a market appetite to replace gas-powered vehicles. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nber.org\/system\/files\/working_papers\/w28933\/w28933.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">According <\/a>To support research by the National Bureau of Economic Research 2021, subsidies must reach more than \u201c$30,000 per car\u201d In 2035, electric vehicles will have a 50 percent share of the market.  <\/p>\n<h2>Global Supply Chains are a Threat to EVs<\/h2>\n<p>American mining has more problems with electric cars than the problems with them. China holds the entire world hostage in terms of battery production and mineral refinement. Beijing presides over <a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Energy-General\/China-Is-Dominating-The-Global-Electric-Vehicle-Battery-Market.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Half <\/a>The global electric car battery market is growing while the U.S. continues to lag behind. <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/26\/interior-department-blocks-minnesota-twin-metals-mining-project-in-big-win-for-beijing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shut down <\/a>major mining projects. <\/p>\n<h2>EVs Aren\u2019t Reliable<\/h2>\n<p>California and New York have <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/09\/30\/new-york-ban-gas-car-sales-2035-california\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Both<\/a> Passed laws banning new sales of gas-powered cars by 2035. This request was made just days after policymakers had moved to ban gasoline-powered cars for the next 13 years. <\/p>\n<p>Residents who are not residents <em>can<\/em> They can still charge vehicles made in China by charging them, but they should be careful to not overcharge their batteries.
