Dave LaRock (R), stated. \u201cTeachers, school counselors, social service workers and courts must respect the parent\u2019s fundamental rights in the parent-child relationship by involving parents immediately when a child is experiencing serious challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"D-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B2\" class=\"a8d\"><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I was disappointed to see that all Democrats voted in opposition to this common-sense legislation. You can watch yesterday&#8217;s debate here.https:\/\/t.co\/FQDLA4Vnej&#8221;>https:\/\/t.co\/FQDLA4Vnej<\/a> 2\/2<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Delegate Dave LaRock (@DaveLaRockForVA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DaveLaRockForVA\/status\/1623103938487635969?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 7, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The bill is known as Sage\u2019s Law because her mother, Michele, testified before the House in January about her daughter\u2019s experience \u201ctransitioning\u201d into a male.<\/p>\n<p>The 14-year-old girl chose to use a different name and changed her pronouns. \u201call the girls there were bi, trans, lesbian, emo,\u201d Michele was not notified.<\/p>\n<p>Michele said Sage was bullied in the boys\u2019 restroom and ran away only to be a victim of sex trafficking in Washington, DC, and Baltimore, Maryland. Sage was taken to a male juvenile center, where she was further abused and given drugs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"a8d-pre\">Sage\u2019s parents were accused of abuse for \u201cmisgendering\u201d Their daughter.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"M-ROS-B3\" class=\"a8d adSo\"><\/figure>\n<p>Sage finally fled Maryland for Texas, where she was \u201cdrugged, raped, beaten and exploited\u201d before she was returned to her parents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSage says she doesn\u2019t know who she was back then,\u201d Michele said. \u201cShe wasn\u2019t a boy. She just wanted to have friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut her school, the judge, the attorney and the doctor were all blinded by their ideology,\u201d She continued. \u201cThe consequences for Sage were unspeakable. Please don\u2019t let ideology harm another child. Let parents do our jobs. We know our children best and we love them a million times more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bill will now go to the 22\u201318 Democrat-controlled Senate.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/author\/bthies\/\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\">Breccan F.
