This was a devastating blow not only to the team, but to what had been a remarkable run by an unlikely hero.<\/p>\n<p>Purdy&#8217;s rookie year was a success. He posted five consecutive wins and two playoff victories to close the season. Purdy, who was hurt, was forced to get back into action and basically hand the ball off in different formations.
