The press conference was shown in the videos. Officials escorted Lambert down a corridor to arrest him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is literally my job to be there,\u201d Lambert spoke as he was being escorted off.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewsNation?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@NewsNation<\/a>\u2018s DC-based correspondent <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EvanLambertTV?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@EvanLambertTV<\/a> arrest footage continued. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NewsNation?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#NewsNation<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/wEJStVuiOs\">pic.twitter.com\/wEJStVuiOs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 NewsNation PR (@NewsNationPR) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NewsNationPR\/status\/1623472417149517824?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 9, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mike Viqueria, Washington Bureau Chief for NewsNation, said Wednesday that Lambert was safe, calm, and continuing to act with professionalism and integrity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you see from the videos, he was doing his job \u2014 what hundreds of journalists do without incident \u2014 reporting to the public on a matter of urgent, critical interest to our audience,\u201d said Viqueria, also adding, \u201cEvery effort is being made to assist Evan and secure his release as soon as possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lambert was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing, and will remain in the Columbiana County Jail overnight, the news agency reported.<\/p>\n<p>DeWine said Wednesday night that he didn\u2019t ask for any reporters to be arrested and that it\u2019s normal for reporters to speak on TV during his press conferences.\u00a0\u201cWhoever was arrested had every right to be reporting and doing what they do every single day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After officials warned that burning chemicals might cause severe health hazards or an explosion, journalists from across the country flew to East Palestine, Ohio over the weekend. Officials vowed to charge people with misconduct during an emergency if they refused to leave \u2014 with upgraded charges if children were at risk.<\/p>\n<p>Officials conducted a controlled release to minimize the chance of an explosion.
