As the latest release of the \u201cTwitter Files\u201d Further, Elon Musk was exposed to have been motivated by <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/12\/03\/twitter-files-confirm-big-tech-leftists-suppressed-hunter-biden-laptop-story-ahead-of-2020-election\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Not Twitter policy, but partisanship<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of Wednesday&#8217;s hearing, Rep. James Comer, Chairman of the Committee, stated that the oversight questioning was to expose the relationship between Big Tech companies such as Twitter and corrupt, partisan federal agents like the FBI. This agency tried to thwart scrutiny of the Biden family business in advance of the 2020 election. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTwitter\u2019s employees made censorship decisions on the fly, often not following the company\u2019s own policy \u2014 publicly stated policies. It worked hand-in-hand with the FBI to monitor the protected speech of Americans receiving millions of tax dollars to do so,\u201d Comer stated. \u201cTwitter, under the leadership of our witnesses today, was a private company the federal government used to accomplish what it constitutionally cannot \u2014 limit the free exercise of speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some Democrats tried to pivot the hearing away from its purpose by inviting surprise witness Anika Navaroli, a member of Twitter\u2019s censorship team who was hailed as a hero after she helped the weaponized Jan. 6 Committee advance its <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/23\/how-the-twitter-files-undermine-the-j6-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Anti-free speech agenda<\/a>, to testify about Twitter\u2019s need for more censorship. <\/p>\n<p>Others, like Maxwell Frost, a recently elected Democrat Representative, suggested the hearing might have been the result of GOP. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SarahBurris\/status\/1623384455703404544?s=20&#038;t=pxmN0ok7Ox8owTmFXe_V8A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Infuriation<\/a> Information about the 2020 presidential elections results. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez said that the hearing was a waste because it focused on one piece of information. \u201cdisinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The witnesses, former Deputy General Counsel of Twitter James Baker (who also used to serve as lead counsel for the FBI), former Chief Legal Officer of Twitter Vijaya Gadde (who was fired by Elon Musk shortly after he bought the company), and former Global Head of Trust &#038; Safety of Twitter Yoel Roth, were all deeply involved in the decision to stop the story\u2019s spread.<\/p>\n<p>They may be former employees and they were under oath, but that didn\u2019t stop Baker or any of the others from lying about the role they played in controlling dialogue in the public square. <\/p>\n<p> Are you making a mistake or following a calculated strategy? <\/p>\n<p>Right off the bat, Gadde and Roth both repeatedly stated that hindsight indicated the suppression of the New York Post\u2019s legitimate reporting was a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/03\/25\/dorsey-says-blocking-posts-hunter-biden-story-was-total-mistake\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cmistake,\u201d Jack Dorsey, former CEO of Twitter, also stated this in 2021.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Republicans weren\u2019t buying it. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are mistakes that have been made and we keep looking back at these mistakes and say \u2018oh that shouldn\u2019t have happened that way.
