She was denied reinstatement when she appealed.<\/p>\n<p id=\"id__ollj8kbi3ue\" class=\"css-901oao r-18jsvk2 r-37j5jr r-1blvdjr r-16dba41 r-vrz42v r-bcqeeo r-bnwqim r-qvutc0\" dir=\"auto\" lang=\"en\" data-testid=\"tweetText\">\u201cMy parents just got banned from AirBnB for being related to me,\u201d Southern captioned the viral Twitter post. \u201cThey have never booked anything for me. They do not represent me in any way. They aren\u2019t publicly political in any way. How is this sane in any way [Airbnb].\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\" lang=\"en\" data-testid=\"tweetText\">As of Wednesday morning, Southern\u2019s post about the ban has received more than 6.8 million views.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy parents are some of the sweetest people I know. They were just planning a romantic getaway, they aren\u2019t political activists,\u201d She added. \u201cAll I\u2019ve learned is that if governments and corporations can\u2019t shut you up by harming you, they\u2019ll now go for your families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">My parents are among the most kind and loving people I know. They were only planning a romantic getaway. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n<p>What I have learned is that governments and corporations won&#8217;t harm you if they don&#8217;t get you shut up.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Lauren Southern (@Lauren_Southern) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Lauren_Southern\/status\/1623107195574575105?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 7, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Airbnb told The Daily Wire the banning of Southern\u2019s parents was a \u201cmistake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have reinstated their accounts and apologized to them for this mistake,\u201d A spokesperson stated.<\/p>\n<p>Southern was contacted by The Daily Wire to discuss the response. She stated that she believes Airbnb is a good business model. \u201clying\u201d The ban was a mistake that was only reversed by public backlash.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think it\u2019s obvious to everyone that my parents never would\u2019ve been reinstated if Airbnb didn\u2019t start trending last night,\u201d Southern shared his story with The Daily Wire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow do you accidentally find a political activist\u2019s parents?\u201d She took a pose. \u201cHow do you accidentally ban them after she was banned 3 years ago? How do you accidentally write an email that specifically highlights they\u2019re being banned for their associations?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI could see someone accidentally being locked out of their account for a glitch that emails them a generic letter, this was no generic letter nor random family.
