The Corps&#8217; Eagle symbol, Globe and Anchor symbol dates back as far as 1868. The slogan &#8220;A Few Good Men&#8221; Actually, the service dates back to 1779, when its members were known as the Continental Marines. The Continental Marines were not known for their loud shouting. &#8220;oorah!&#8221;<\/p>\n<article data-embed-button=\"image\" data-entity-embed-display=\"view_mode:media.with_caption\" data-entity-type=\"media\" data-entity-uuid=\"1c6bd302-80fd-4a65-99f5-a81487bb3f8b\" data-langcode=\"en\" class=\"embedded-entity\">\n<figure>\n<div class=\"field field--image field--label-hidden\"><source media=\"(min-width: 1200px)\" type=\"image\/jpeg\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 992px) and (max-width: 1199px)\" type=\"image\/jpeg\" \/><source media=\"(min-width: 768px) and (max-width: 991px)\" type=\"image\/jpeg\" \/><source media=\"(max-width: 767px)\" type=\"image\/jpeg\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/mil20marine20corps20yut201200.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"No \" oorah  style=\"display:none\"><\/div><figcaption>No &#8220;oorah&#8221; Here, but there is likely to be a lot more YUT.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/article>\n<p>Regardless of what you may have heard about it&#8217;s origin, &#8220;oorah&#8221; This has nothing to with the U.S. Army. &#8220;Hooah&#8221; It just happens to sound like &#8220;oorah.&#8221; It is the Ottoman term that Marines mistakenly believe. &#8220;kill,&#8221; Which is really? &#8220;\u00d6ld\u00fcrmek&#8221; Turkish &#8220;Oorah&#8221; In fact, it dates back to post Korean War Recon Marines in Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>While the Marines&#8217; use to locate landing spots for amphibious assaults dates back well beyond World War II, small raiding units were formed during World War II in order to collect intelligence and information about target beachheads. Recon Marines conducted reconnaissance on the beaches and inland areas at places like Saipan and Tinian in preparation to major landings.<\/p>\n<p>After World War II, recon battalions of reconnaissance units vanished. They were however reorganized in platoon-sized units during the Korean War. Reactivated recon units of company size were activated in Korea in 1953. One of these units, the 1st Amphibious Reconnaissance Company (or 1st Amphibious Reconnaissance Company), traveled by submarine to its landing points. It was aboard these submarines. &#8220;oorah&#8221; It was born.<\/p>\n<p>Marines would hear the voice of a person shouting when the submarines were below the waterline. &#8220;dive, dive,&#8221; Together with a unique, klaxon alarm. The distinctive sound of the &#8220;klaxon&#8221; was the sound itself:<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=p2ica3CCsvM\">Aarugha<\/a>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Watching the response of submarine sailors to the klaxon alarm had an impact on the Recon Marines at the boat. They started using the sound to motivate themselves during their own physical training. Shouting &#8220;Aarugha,&#8221; However, it became too complicated after a while so the Marines simplified the process into a much more fluid and cooler-sounding version &#8220;oorah.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Marine Corps journalist Lance Cpl.
