Judy Chu (D-CA) \u201chonorary chairwoman\u201d According to the Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF), it was August 2019, Monterey Park, California. <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2023\/02\/06\/ccp-judy-chu-united-front-taiwan-forums-for-peaceful-reunification-of-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">investigation published Monday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This report was released amid increasing tensions between China&#8217;s and the United States after an increase in violence. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/an-explanation-for-why-trump-never-shot-down-chinese-spy-balloons-emerges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suspected Chinese surveillance balloon<\/a>\u00a0Last week, a flight over the United States was made. According to the DCNF they translated numerous Chinese-language sources and consulted experts who concluded that the group is a Chinese intelligence operation related to the United Front Work Department (UFWD).<\/p>\n<p>The U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscc.gov\/about-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In 2000, Congress created it.<\/a>Has it? <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscc.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/annual_reports\/2016%20Annual%20Report%20to%20Congress.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UFWD<\/a> As a department of the Chinese Communist Party \u201creportedly participates in building foreign intelligence collection networks, particularly in Taiwan.\u201d One of its most notable features is \u201cprimary missions\u201d Are there efforts to \u201cliaison with foreign political parties,\u201d \u201cinfluence operations,\u201d  \u201cintelligence collection,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uscc.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/annual_reports\/2009-Report-to-Congress.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A 2009 report from the commission states that this figure was calculated.<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Taiwan is an independent island nation that China Communist Party seeks to control. The United States offers defense support to Taiwan but does not recognize Taiwan as a nation.<\/p>\n<p>Chu expressed her hope for Taiwan and China during the August 2019 event \u201cto become one family,\u201d per a DCNF translation. Such a comment would align with the Forums for Peaceful Reunification of China\u2019s opposition to Taiwanese independence.<\/p>\n<p>When Nancy Pelosi (D -CA), then-House Speaker, was about to visit Taiwan to protest China in 2022 Chu stated that she would not be able to. \u201calways supported Taiwan,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/08\/01\/politics\/nancy-pelosi-taiwan-visit\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>.
