It&#8217;s a well-known fact that whatever happens in California right now, will happen elsewhere five years later. It\u2019s depressing, demoralizing even, but it\u2019s also true, or it\u2019s seemed that way for as long as I\u2019ve been alive.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Even good causes are often started by the \u2018left\u2019 Side of politics in a given age, like civil rights or early feminism, have transformed into monsters eating every semblance logic and common sense. Despite the fact that we\u2019ve gone far beyond what the originators of those movements dreamed, there\u2019s always \u201cmore work to do,\u201d Grifters must keep their attention on them, and most importantly, keep their fat paychecks coming. Consequently, we\u2019ve gone from creating a society based on equality under the law to one which elevates certain \u2018preferred\u2019 Groups are more important than others, and the group seeks to destroy the only building block that has kept civilization together for thousands upon thousands of years &#8211; The nuclear family.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">How long will this continue? This will continue until humanity dies from within, and the sun swallows the earth. You probably believe this is part of the plan if you follow a particular type of Christian futurist eschatology. You can sleep easier at night if that helps you sleep better. But I\u2019ve got news for you: Christians have been thinking the exact same thing for more than 2,000 years, so odds are you\u2019ll die thinking that way, as will your children and grandchildren and countless succeeding generations.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">As for me, I prefer to think the culture war shouldn\u2019t just be fought out of duty, although we should certainly do what is right. It should also be fought because it is possible to win. Here. This life. Right now. Effective fighting is the only way to make the world better for our future generations. And if your theology is telling you to give up because we can\u2019t win, you should consider ditching that theology because it is toxic and self-defeating. (But that\u2019s a column for another day, isn\u2019t it?)<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cBut but but,\u201d &#8220;You say,&#8221; \u201cwhat about that first paragraph, all that stuff about the arch of history? Don\u2019t the failures of the past prove our point, that all is indeed lost?\u201d Maybe, but it also ignores the ebbs and flows taking place over hundreds of years that we can\u2019t witness personally because our lifespans are too short. It might have been more difficult for Christians in the early Roman period, when they were more concerned about being crucified than having to bake a cake that was against their convictions. Consider how many lives were lost to communism in the 20th century. Which would you prefer? Russia and much eastern Europe today are more like what we would call &#8220;real&#8221; today. \u2018conservative,\u2019 Particularly socially, it is more than Europe and the United States. This is one of the reasons the leftist establishment in America hates them so badly. They\u2019ve been there, done that, and they aren\u2019t particularly interested in a repeat.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Hopefully, we won\u2019t have to go through what the people under 20th-century communist oppression went through for decades in order to turn the tide. Yes, it is possible. However, another possibility is for enough people to be influenced on a particular topic in culture wars and that our side gains ground. One domino could fall and another could follow, and so on.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">One of the most striking examples of this potential is the ongoing resistance to gender ideology. Instead of bending and giving in to their insanity, conservatives and many old-school liberals and even ardent feminists like author J.K. Rowling are doubling down and refusing to budge, particularly on the most pernicious aspects like women\u2019s sports, biological males in female prisons, and child mutilations. It\u2019s inspiring, really. Despite leftists\u2019 best efforts at portraying the transgender movement as the civil rights issue of our time, a majority of the population &#8211; nearly all of which are sympathetic to the ACTUAL civil rights movement &#8211; aren\u2019t buying it. Even though they push the envelope,\u00a0<a data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&#038;q=https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/transgender-policies-poll-poorly-as-democrats-and-liberals-make-them-top-priority&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1675728889377000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2a9i3DKIpIbu6FU2302Pke\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/opinion\/transgender-policies-poll-poorly-as-democrats-and-liberals-make-them-top-priority\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">According to polls, the majority of respondents are satisfied with their results.<\/a> They are outkicking them in coverage.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Twitter is seeing even more resistance to social media. People aren&#8217;t afraid to say that the emperor doesn&#8217;t have clothes, from Libs of TikTok and Matt Walsh to Rowling to countless other people. And it hasn\u2019t gone unnoticed:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cPeople are really done with this nonsense,\u201d Walsh <a data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?hl=en&#038;q=https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattWalshBlog\/status\/1617632389626490881&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1675728889377000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2d-HQ5_o7xFDr85IR5s-bB\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattWalshBlog\/status\/1617632389626490881\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submitted<\/a> in a Twitter post about a man who thinks he\u2019s a woman named \u201cKaelie\u201d who posted a video complaining about wanting to use a women\u2019s bathroom without pushback. \u201cI\u2019m seeing a lot more intolerance of the trans agenda recently and it\u2019s a great sign. A decade too late but still, finally, people are fed up. I figured we\u2019d be able to defeat the child mutilators but I thought it would take many more years to bring down the trans agenda as a whole. Maybe I should be more optimistic. The public seems to be reaching a breaking point on this issue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In a world where there\u2019s so much to be negative about of late, a little justified optimism may be the best tonic around. Don\u2019t lose hope.
