She described the epiphany as \u201cleaving a cult.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The mother, who would like to remain anonymous, wrote two essays. She recently spoke on a popular podcast about her journey as a social justice activist. \u201ctrue believer\u201d in transgender ideology to a skeptic who is deeply regretful for allowing her son to believe he was a little girl trapped in a boy\u2019s body.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m texting a friend, and I\u2019m like \u2018we\u2019ve realized that our older son is not actually transgender and we\u2019re going to be rolling back the social transition and I feel like I am leaving a cult,\u2019 because that\u2019s what it felt like to me,\u201d She said it on the podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/dBRJorDjG88\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Triggernometry<\/a> Her identity is hidden behind a blur filter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The mother\u2019s first essay in August 2022, \u201cTrue Believer,\u201d Social media went viral. In the Parents with Inconvenient truths About Trans (PITT Substack) <a href=\"https:\/\/pitt.substack.com\/p\/true-believer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Newsletter<\/a>She shared how her and her spouse raised their sons. \u201cgender neutral\u201d They believed they were following a righteous path. \u201csocial justice.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Their oldest son was four years old when he asked them if they were a boy or a girl. They told him that he could choose. Six months later their son declared he wanted to be called a girl. \u201csister\u201d Use \u201cshe\/her\u201d pronouns. Both his mothers affirmed his new transgender identity by allowing him to socially transition; they changed his name, allowed him to wear girl\u2019s clothes, and allowed him to believe he was truly a girl for approximately one year.<\/p>\n<p>When her youngest son, aged three, indicated that he wanted to identify himself as a girl, it was then that she started to question if she had made a mistake in her relationship with her oldest boy. Her worldview was beginning to unravel and the mother began to regret the actions she took with her wife. \u201cled\u201d Their child was led down a path that could have caused severe psychological damage as well as irreversible medical treatment. In the end she realized that it was her parents who were supposed to lead, and not their child.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The interview was followed by another mother who used Triggernometry. <a href=\"https:\/\/pitt.substack.com\/p\/a-return-to-reality\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Essay<\/a> For PITT, the title \u201cA Return To Reality,\u201d Here she elaborated on her new outlook.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the interview, I refer to the moment in time when I finally could see my belief in gender identity as a belief for the first time,\u201d The mother wrote. \u201cIt was this moment when I feel I moved out of experiencing this belief as absolute truth, and was able to \u2018see\u2019 it from the outside looking in\u201d (emphasis hers).<\/p>\n<p>She described the moment feeling like \u201ca pin came out of my head,\u201d This caused the belief system to crumble and led to the return to the cult analogy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow else could I describe being in something so deep, that I could not see outside of it?\u201d She said. \u201cAt least when you are religious, you realize you hold beliefs, you understand you have a faith, and you consciously practice it. This was different. I had been in something that I did not know I was in.
