(AITA)\u201d and the users are asking the Reddit community if they are \u2014 well \u2014 an a-hole.<\/p>\n<p>Today I came across this. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/AmItheAsshole\/comments\/10rhn66\/aita_for_telling_gf_that_i_will_not_stop_using\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reddit post <\/a>Those are my thoughts. \u201cAITA for telling GF that I will not stop using butter?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Right off the bat, that title made me think he\u2019s not an a-hole. Perhaps he\u2019s doing something crazy. Maybe he\u2019s using the butter for all the wrong reasons. <\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s review what he says, and then I will make a judgment. Here\u2019s the post:<\/p>\n<p>GF was a vegetarian at the time we met and now he is completely vegan.<\/p>\n<p>I am very conscious about meat and only eat it when I&#8217;m on vacation. My GF makes it a point to avoid animal products. However, I don&#8217;t mind eating locally sourced meat. I also enjoy eggs from my backyard chickens, and butter for cooking. I used to cook meals together with GF. GF refuses to eat my meals because I use butter most of the time.<\/p>\n<p>I told her if she didn\u2019t like what I made she doesn\u2019t have to eat it, but I feel like I compromised a lot in order to satisfy her lifestyle, and it\u2019s not fair for her to expect me to make completely vegan meals.<\/p>\n<p>She said that she doesn&#8217;t respect my choice to be vegan. She says she can\u2019t make me vegan, but the least i could do is prepare vegan meals. I told her that I sacrificed eating lot\u2019s of animal products i enjoy to respect her, while she hasn\u2019t done anything for me. I ate my dishes only because butter was the only animal product.<\/p>\n<p>I told her I am making meals with no meat, no eggs, but I don\u2019t like the vegan substitute for butter when I make my creamy dishes. Pot pie (with fake poultry). I am trying to accommodate but it feels like i\u2019m the only one giving anything up<\/p>\n<p>AITA?<\/p>\n<p>You are not an a-hole.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The vegan here is the a-hole \u2014 which tends to always be the case. They\u2019re very demanding. They decide they want to live a certain lifestyle, then it becomes a cult, and they try to force everybody to go along with it \u2014 especially those closest to them.<\/p>\n<p>By the way, it\u2019s great that you\u2019ve decided to respect her so much by eating more of these substitute drops of crap. It&#8217;s better to eat real food than these vegan alternatives if you really look at what they contain. It\u2019s far healthier.<\/p>\n<p>The real question is: What is she doing for me out of respect? She may value you, but she might value you. She might make you a chicken recipe, but she doesn&#8217;t value your time. If she asks you to prepare her vegan meals, will she ever prepare you a carnivore dish?<\/p>\n<p>Wouldn\u2019t she probably say \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t want to do that because I have now decided that veganism is my new religion \u2014 and by religion, I mean cult.\u2019 I think she would.<\/p>\n<p>So it doesn\u2019t really make sense for her to demand that you not consume butter \u2014 which, by the way, is a healthy fat that is good for you.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know the vegan rules. However, I know that there are many. I also know that if she continues being this strict vegan, then she\u2019s probably going to end up sick because we are meant to eat meat.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;m going to get a lot of bad vegan people messaging me, saying terrible vegan things.<\/p>\n<p>When I take on vegans, I feel bombarded.<\/p>\n<p>It is a cult.<\/p>\n<p>Vegans react when they hear someone express an opinion that is different from their own beliefs. They attack and go ballistic online and make videos saying. \u2018Oh my Goodness. Look at this person saying they proudly consume meat, what should we do? We\u2019We are all going to attack! We\u2019re all going to attack because you can\u2019t be a carnivore!\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Now, if you do eat meat and somebody says,\u2019I\u2019m a vegan!,\u2019 most carnivores will say, \u2019OK, that\u2019s fine. It\u2019s your life, your choice.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>But not with vegans. Those freaks say, \u2018I don\u2019t eat meat, and neither should you.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>They are like little princesses to their minds. They all make me mad.<\/p>\n<p>Reddit poster: I believe you need a new girlfriend. If you leave her and you date someone who eats meat, then you\u2019re going to have a way better time.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to do.
