The AHCA submitted Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) asking for documents on the Biden administration\u2019s transgender health care policies.<\/p>\n<p>The state has sued the agency over a ban on Medicaid funds being used. \u201cgender-affirming\u201d Care, which includes hormone therapy as well as sex reassignment surgeries.<\/p>\n<p>Documents <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2023\/01\/31\/florida-ahca-doj-hhs-gender-dysphoria-ron-desantis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reviewed<\/a> by The Daily Caller, the AHCA is seeking information not only about the Medicaid lawsuit, but also about the state\u2019s guidance for the treatment of children with gender dysphoria and the state\u2019s accepted medical standards for treating gender dysphoria. According to the documents, sex reassignment procedures are not proven effective in treating gender dysphoria, particularly for children.<\/p>\n<p>The AHCA requested records from the DOJ related to a March 31, 2022, letter from Assistant Attorney General Kristen Clarke to all state attorneys general, urging states to comply with the Biden administration\u2019s priorities on transgender rights and treatment regulations. HHS was also requested to provide records on a March 2,2022, notice regarding gender-affirming and civil rights. This threatened legal action against any entities that discriminate against Transgender persons.<\/p>\n<p>The AHCA also asked for records of any ongoing or pending lawsuits related to gender Dysphoria as well any communications with the American Academy of Pediatrics or the Endocrine Society. Florida has recently been notified. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/pediatric-medical-body-subpoenaed-to-provide-florida-with-documentation-on-child-sex-change-policies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">won a ruling<\/a> A district court ordered that the AAP turn over documents explaining why the AAP supports gender transitions in minors. This was after the state had subpoenaed other organizations to provide documents regarding their gender dysphoria policy.<\/p>\n<p>The latest development was the order, which was brought to you by transgender rights and Yale with the support of medical groups. Yale is suing Florida, arguing that Florida&#8217;s ban of Medicaid covering sex modification treatments violates the Equal Protection Clause.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs asked for a preliminary order against the Medicaid ban. But the request was denied. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/10\/12\/florida-medicaid-ban-transgender-treatments-00061500\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denied<\/a> In October. Robert Hinkle, Judge, declared that the ban did no violation of constitutional rights. Instead, the Medicaid statute would determine the fate of the case.<\/p>\n<p>In the United States, children are put in the driver\u2019s seat of their own sex change operations, despite the fact that a body of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sexologytoday.org\/2016\/01\/do-trans-kids-stay-trans-when-they-grow_99.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Research<\/a> indicates that roughly 60\u201390% of children who identify as transgender, but who do not socially or medically transition, will no longer identify as transgender in adulthood and many will grow up to be gay and lesbian adults.
