Mayorkas was accused of being a liar. \u201cengaged in a pattern of conduct that is incompatible with his duties as an Officer of the United States.\u201d One glance at the southern border from that time would show that it is difficult for any reasonable person to disagree with the argument. However, the Democrats held the House&#8217;s control at that time so the motion was not considered.<\/p>\n<p>It was then, but it is now. Biden&#8217;s border crisis has escalated dramatically and impeachment articles had to be updated to reflect this sad reality. Biggs&#8217; proposal has been presented this time by the GOP majority. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/dhs-secretary-mayorkas-hit-new-impeachment-article-reckless-abandonment-border\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A new charge has been added to the list<\/a>. Mayorkas was accused of failing to keep his office&#8217;s oath. Mayorkas is accused of supervising \u201ca reckless abandonment of border security and immigration enforcement.\u201d (Fox News)<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., is introducing a new impeachment article against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, accusing him of violaring his oath of office and failing to enforce U.S. immigration law\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecretary Mayorkas has failed to faithfully uphold his oath and has instead presided over a reckless abandonment of border security and immigration enforcement, at the expense of the Constitution and the security of the United States. Secretary Mayorkas has violated, and continues to violate, this oath by failing to maintain operational control of the border and releasing hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into the interior of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Mayorkas was also accused by the new articles for not having implemented the 2006 Secure Fence Act. The law gives Homeland Security the responsibility for implementing the 2006 Secure Fencing Act. \u201cachieve and maintain operational control\u201d The border. Because the phrase &#8220;over the border&#8221; could be interpreted as problematic, it could be viewed as problematic. \u201coperational control\u201d This is subject to a lot of interpretation. Mayorkas could point out that official border crossings still operate in a normal manner with documents being checked, and suspicious vehicles being inspected. He might then attempt to claim that it\u2019s physically impossible to stop all illegal crossings in other areas, and the current period \u201cjust happens to be\u201d It is worse than any other time in the past.<\/p>\n<p>It would require some major efforts. <em>cojones<\/em> Alejandro Mayorkas should deliver this line straight. It is unlikely that we can stop all illegal traffic crossing the border. No one would stay in the DHS office for more than ten minutes if the secretary was impeached every time an illegal tunnel was opened or someone crossed the border.<\/p>\n<p>However, there must be a point at which the failure is too obvious not to acknowledge it. That point was reached, I believe, quite some time ago. When we\u2019re talking about more than a quarter million people crossing the border in a single month (as we\u2019re seeing today), the Department of Homeland Security has clearly and obviously failed to secure the homeland. Under such circumstances, impeachment is proper.<\/p>\n<p>The person responsible for this catastrophe deserves to be impeached. Joe Biden is that person. This border crisis didn\u2019t happen by accident and take everyone by surprise. Biden immediately ordered the halt to all construction of the border wall, and almost all deportations. Biden immediately saw children arrive at the border in their own clothes. \u201cBiden Please Let Us In\u201d t-shirts. Coyotes started to make travel reservations, and cartels increased their purchases of fentanyl. Business was booming and the border was open to illegal trade.<\/p>\n<p>This should all be made public. But will they ever be held accountable? Even if we pass articles of impeachment in the House, which is unlikely to happen, we would still require a conviction at the Senate. Is there a Democrat in the upper house that would vote to convict Mayorkas or Biden? Sadly, I wouldn\u2019t bet on it.
