Not the award-winning essay collection from Nikole Hann-Jones. <\/em>New York Times<em>. Or the best-selling Random House anthology. Or the award-winning and best-selling book for children. I haven\u2019t listened and won\u2019t again. There are better ways to do it. <\/em>Spend your precious time.<\/p>\n<p><em>This is true for the vast majority, not just the majority of Americans of color. That&#8217;s obvious, right? This is true for the majority of internet users who have strong opinions about whether they should use the internet. <\/em>The 1619 Project<em> It should be taught in public school, with the majority of politicians and pundits defending or denouncing it on television. This is often what passes as public discourse today in the digital age.<\/em><em>\u2014a shouting match among the passionately uninformed, while the\u00a0<\/em>People who are smarter than others (or who value their sanity, or just don&#8217;t care). <em>Tune out and do nothing<\/em><\/p>\n<p>What I do know is that America&#8217;s \u00e9lite universities are among the most radical purveyors of anti-anti-segregationist racial sensitivity nonsense, and among the quickest to quash even the slightest dissent in the ranks. This is why it&#8217;s important to note that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2019\/12\/20\/magazine\/we-respond-to-the-historians-who-critiqued-the-1619-project.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Several<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/historynewsnetwork.org\/article\/174140\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Histories<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2020\/03\/06\/1619-project-new-york-times-mistake-122248\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professors<\/a>\u00a0Yale, Princeton and Brown as well as Northwestern were able to strongly criticize The 1619 Project&#8217;s historical accuracy. &#8220;errors and distortions&#8221;\u00a0is\u00a0profoundly damning. I&#8217;ll believe their words.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>I also know that anyone\u2014Nikole Hannah-Jones, for example\u2014who <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/media\/virginia-public-library-dropped-40k-on-speech-from-1619-project-creator\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prices<\/a> a public library $900 per minute\u00a0to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FreeBeacon\/status\/1572387236985081857?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tell an audience<\/a> of bourgeois liberals\u00a0<\/em>The United States is &#8220;one of the most unequal societies in the history of the world&#8221; Historical accuracy might not be as important as other things. Ditto a cultural\u00a0establishment that promotes her work on numerous platforms and\u00a0showers her with awards.\u00a0We might be meant to take her seriously, but maybe not literally.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Serious people wouldn&#8217;t claim to have said something so absurd in public. &#8220;a fact.&#8221; (Or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vanityfair.com\/news\/2021\/11\/nikole-hannah-jones-keeps-her-eyes-on-the-prize\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Accept<\/a> To believe in &#8220;the zodiac.&#8221;)\u00a0But that&#8217;s just how most Democratic politicians, journalists, and other professional left-wing activists who demand to be taken seriously communicate these days. The world is changing. Democracy is in peril. &#8220;Jim Crow on steroids.&#8221; No wonder so many of their kids have\u00a0turned to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/parody\/analysis-we-need-a-total-and-complete-shutdown-of-rich-white-liberals-having-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Domestic terrorism<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is the stuff they teach in universities. They also applaud it at corporate diversity summits. It&#8217;s now available for streaming on Hulu. Hulu is a joint-owned subsidiary of NBC Universal, The Walt Disney Company.
