His mother intervened and saved him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The boy was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2023\/feb\/01\/child-attacked-mountain-lion-northern-california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transported<\/a> After the attack, they were taken to a hospital on Tuesday. The attack happened right before seven o\u2019clock in the evening in San Mateo county in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/california\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California<\/a>, the sheriff\u2019s department reportedly said. Officials claimed that the boy was unconscious when he was taken to medical attention.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The boy\u2019s mother and grandfather were <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7news.com\/mountain-lion-attack-child-injured-san-mateo-county-sheriffs-office\/12758053\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Begin with<\/a> He was hiking when he was attacked by a mountain lion. Authorities with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (DWF), reported that he fell to the ground.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">His mother saved his life by grabbing him and bringing him out of harm\u2019s way. A Sheriff\u2019s Office spokesperson said the young child was going to be \u201cokay\u201d However, he sustained puncture wounds. The DWF observed that the mountain lion was biting at the child.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to authorities, California Department of Fish and Wildlife (California Department of Fish and Wildlife) is investigating the attack by mountain lions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/bayarea\/article\/mountain-lion-attacks-child-in-san-mateo-county-17755626.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">San Francisco Chronicle<\/a>. They will also be speaking with the boy\u2019s mother and taking a sample of the animal\u2019s DNA from his clothes to see if they catch the right mountain lion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Game personnel were present in the area on Wednesday to hunt for the mountainlion with the plan \u201cto capture and remove the animal.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A San Francisco ABC News affiliate spoke with a man who lived near the scene of the attack. He said that he was the first to arrive at it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cThey were pretty calm when I pulled up, they\u2019re my neighbors so I asked them if they were okay. They were very \u2026 they were good. They said everybody\u2019s fine, but they had to talk to fish and game, and a warden pulled up right as I pulled out,\u201d Chad Conover <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7news.com\/mountain-lion-attack-child-injured-san-mateo-county-sheriffs-office\/12758053\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>. \u201cTypically the mountain lions avoid people, so it\u2019s not often you hear about an attack on a human.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">He stated that the child was located on the rear of the property. It was a house where his parents were living.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cOur coastal community had endured so much these past few weeks. Our entire agency is saddened of this news and sends many warm wishes to the child for a speedy and full recovery,\u201d Christina Corpus, San Mateo County Sheriff <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfchronicle.com\/bayarea\/article\/mountain-lion-attacks-child-in-san-mateo-county-17755626.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/mountain-lion-attack-leaves-child-unknown-condition-trauma\/story?id=96812050\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a>. \u201cOur thoughts are with the family at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">One mountain lion appeared in the autumn of last year <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/news\/article\/child-hospitalized-after-california-mountain-lion-17755673.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bit<\/a> a seven-year-old boy in southern California, but the boy\u2019s father scared it off. The boy was treated for minor injuries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mountain lions that attack people are rare and often not fatal.
