Speaker McCarthy\u2019s unwillingness to-date to taking the threat of default off the table makes him an outlier, including among current and former leaders of his own party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy repeated multiple times during a Sunday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/reforming-social-security-and-medicare-off-the-table-in-debt-negotiations-mccarthy-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Interview<\/a> CBS News stated that the federal government would never default on its obligations.
