The Academy looked into Mary McCormack&#8217;s efforts, who is married. \u201cTo Leslie\u201d Michael Morris, the director, and Jason Weinberg her manager. Jason represents Riseborough to garner support from Hollywood friends in order to push for the film.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, actress Frances Fisher consistently praised the film, suggesting people vote for Riseborough\u2019s nomination since \u201cViola, Michelle, Danielle &#038; Cate are a lock for their outstanding work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Christina Ricci, Actress, Slammed the Investigation <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/01\/christina-ricci-questions-the-academys-review-of-andrea-riseborough-nomination-1235243355\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Writing<\/a> In a post that was later deleted, \u201cSeems hilarious that the \u2018surprise nomination\u2019 (meaning tons of money wasn\u2019t spent to position this actress) of a legitimately brilliant performance is being met with an investigation. So it\u2019s only the films and actors that can afford the campaigns that deserve recognition? Feels elitist and exclusive and frankly very backward to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But on Tuesday, the Academy announced it would not rescind Riseborough\u2019s nomination. \u201cThe academy has determined the activity in question does not rise to the level that the film\u2019s nomination should be rescinded,\u201d Chief Executive Officer Bill Kramer declared. \u201cHowever, we did discover social media and outreach campaigning tactics that caused concern.
