She is a liberal climate scientist, who claimed she had an experience with an &#8220;acute mental health crisis&#8221;  &#8220;could not get out of bed&#8221; Following the 2016 election of Donald Trump,<\/p>\n<p>Kim Cobb, a Brown University climate scientist was named by Biden Thursday to join the President&#8217;s Intelligence Advisory Board. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2023\/01\/26\/president-biden-announces-key-appointments-to-boards-and-commissions-17\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Announcement<\/a> In a press release. Past presidents <a href=\"https:\/\/oaktrust.library.tamu.edu\/bitstream\/handle\/1969.1\/97037\/Desch_2006.pdf?sequence=1&#038;isAllowed=y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The board was used<\/a> Cobb was not authorized to investigate high-profile national security threats or intelligence failures. It isn&#8217;t clear if Cobb will be able stomach sensitive and alarming information.<\/p>\n<p>Cobb got so excited by Trump&#8217;s win in 2016 that he just announced it to him. &#8220;an acute mental health crisis&#8221; She was then unable for several weeks to move. &#8220;get out of bed, despite having four children to tend to,&#8221; The climate scientist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motherjones.com\/environment\/2019\/07\/weight-of-the-world-climate-change-scientist-grief\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Submitted<\/a> <em>Mother Jones<\/em> 2019 &#8220;I could not see a way forward,&#8221; Cobb was still alive at the time. &#8220;My most resounding thought was, how could my country do this? I had to face the fact that there was a veritable tidal wave of people who don&#8217;t care about climate change and who put personal interest above the body of scientific information I had contributed to.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Cobb&#8217;s appointment on the board is a reflection of the Biden administration\u2019s all-of-government approach in combating climate change. Biden published an article on climate change one week after he took office in January 2021. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/presidential-actions\/2021\/01\/27\/executive-order-on-tackling-the-climate-crisis-at-home-and-abroad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Executive order<\/a> That declared climate change considerations &#8220;central to United States foreign policy and national security&#8221; Avril Haines, Director of National Intelligence was asked to produce a report. &#8220;national security impacts of climate change.&#8221; Biden identified climate change months later in June 2021. &#8220;greatest threat&#8221; American national security.<\/p>\n<p>Cobb and neither the White House were available for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond Cobb describes himself as a &#8220;self-described&#8221; person. &#8220;mental health crisis&#8221; Following the 2016 presidential election the climate scientist for 2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/coralsncaves\/status\/524589284104601600?s=20&#038;t=SjUsLQEgToz39tzpVtEzXQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a> Conducting her &#8220;third live radio interview for the Voice of Russia,&#8221; a now-defunct Russian government radio network.
