Although Mike Pence, former Vice President, reported that he found classified material in his house, it is not clear if there is an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe ought to get to the facts and have a fair investigation and try to keep the politics out of it. And we probably ought to consider whether we\u2019re over-classifying some of these documents,\u201d Hogan said. \u201cWe just don\u2019t know at this point who had what documents and why or how dangerous they were.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hogan said that he believed that Pence handled his circumstances better than Trump or Biden.<\/p>\n<p><em>NEIL CAVUTO FOX NEWS ANCHOR <\/em><em>Governor, I\u2019d be curious.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I&#8217;m aware that the governor has access to classified documents every now and again. I don\u2019t know how you respond to what\u2019s been happening. And you\u2019re hearing about this president, the former president, the former vice president, who knows how many others down the road.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>What do your thoughts on this entire mess with classified documents and how would you try to police it if you were president?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>FMR. GOV. LARRY HOGAN, R-MD: I think it&#8217;s a mess.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And, quite frankly, we don\u2019t have all the answers. We need to find the truth.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But there\u2019s an \u2014 it\u2019s just like everything else in Washington. There\u2019s a lot of kind of noise. And I think the average person just doesn\u2019t understand. Republicans blame Democrats, while Democrats blame Republicans.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We should get to the truth, have fair investigations, and keep politics out of the equation. And we probably ought to consider whether we\u2019re overclassifying some of these documents. We just don\u2019t know at this point who had what documents and why or how dangerous they were.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We should try to get to the root of this problem. We should try to fix it, so it doesn\u2019t continue to happen. I think Rob Hur, who was the Trump U.S. attorney for Maryland, is a really sharp, fair guy who\u2019s going to do a thorough investigation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Mike Pence handled the situation well, I think. He apologized, came out immediately, admitted that he had made a mistake, and cooperated. He probably handled it better than President Trump or Vice President Biden.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>CAVUTO: But, obviously, it is something that\u2019s out of control, to your point, Governor.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I\u2019m just wondering, many of these cases have involved aides or something who are packing up for the boss. It could be the former vice-president, past president, or current president.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Now, whether they start rifling through it themselves is anyone\u2019s guess. But the fact that at least President Biden and Vice President Pence have said they were unaware \u2014 that\u2019s not quite the same with President Trump, as you know \u2014 is that itself even more dangerous than being aware?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>HOGAN: Well, I guess we \u2014 it potentially is pretty dangerous, and which is why we \u2014 I think we got to get to the bottom of it and trying to find a fair and objective process, so we just \u2014 it\u2019s not just all politics, and we actually try to fix a problem that appears to exist.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And, yes, we don\u2019t know who packed up the documents, what the documents were, whose responsibility it was. But it\u2019s a problem.
