Whole Foods indicated that it hopes to lower the cost of shopping at its locations as businesses begin to see their costs fall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cWe know our customers are weighing the impacts of inflationary pressure on their buying choices,\u201d Alyssa Vescio, Whole Foods\u2019 senior vice president of merchandising of center store, told suppliers at the virtual meeting viewed by the Journal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">According to the outlet, food suppliers pointed out that high labor and production costs have led to an increase in wholesale prices. Groceries have risen their prices for customers&#8217; items. The consumer has responded by buying less and choosing cheaper items.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A spokesperson for Whole Foods told the outlet that they have taken steps to help customers cope with the rising cost of living. She said that Whole Foods has experienced lower cost hikes than the industry average. According to the spokeswoman, the store also reduced costs on certain items, such as bread, cereal, sparkling water and other beverages.<\/p>\n<p>Whole Foods executives said at the virtual meeting that the store would do more for customers to get their groceries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Although December saw a slight decrease in inflation, grocery prices remained high. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/inflation-is-slowing-but-grocery-prices-anticipated-to-remain-high-in-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Promised to remain this way<\/a> This year.
