Jean-Pierre responded that Swalwell and Schiff were kicked off the intelligence panel, along with Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-MN. \u201cbring a lot to the table when it comes to foreign policy and national security.\u201d The press secretary didn\u2019t say much else beyond \u201cit should be independent\u201d Before you quickly drop the topic.<\/p>\n<p>Banks offered to disclose the information in order to resolve any uncertainty. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2021\/07\/26\/exclusive-classified-report-biden-could-release-provides-intricate-detail-on-eric-swalwell-relationship-with-fang-fang\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breitbart&#8217;s July 2021 report on an alleged leak<\/a>. According to the news outlet, the classified report contained information about U.S. intelligence. \u201cintricate and intimate details\u201d of Swalwell\u2019s relationship with Fang, including \u201ccertain sexual acts they allegedly engaged in together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the White House\u2019s position is correct and Rep. Swalwell\u2019s past association with a Chinese spy does not preclude him from serving on the House Intelligence Committee, then the White House should\u00a0immediately declassify its report on Rep. Swalwell,\u201d Banks wrote. \u201cIf the report proves that, as the White House is suggesting, Rep. Swalwell\u2019s relations with Fang Fang were innocuous and do not threaten our national security, then many House Republicans, including me, would support allowing Rep. Swalwell to serve on the House Intelligence Committee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The White House did no immediate respond to a request for comment about the letter. However, such a disclosure is unlikely given the extent of secrecy surrounding it.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, Axios <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2020\/12\/08\/china-spy-california-politicians\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The news was first reported<\/a> Swalwell was linked to a Chinese national named Christine Fang. Fang Fang helped Swalwell with fundraising and also placed at least one intern within his office. According to a U.S. intelligence officer, Swalwell stopped contact with Fang after being briefed in 2015 by the FBI.
