The reason for such a decline is unknown, but several societal factors may be at play \u2014 and could provide a way to fix the problem.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/trainingindustry.com\/articles\/performance-management\/debunking-soft-skills-6-skills-that-impact-business-but-nobody-trains-for-spon-caveo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Training Industry<\/a>, soft skills include communication, one\u2019s work ethic, leadership ability, flexibility, working on a team, and interpersonal skills. These skills, while not the primary focus of any particular job or career path are extremely useful for employees.<\/p>\n<p>Soft skills like time management and problem solving are essential for daily life. They not only make it easier but also help one do a better job.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These are the types of candidates that employers are most interested in hiring. \u201csoft\u201d However, there seems to be a decline in the percentage of workers who have the necessary know-how.<\/p>\n<p>According to iCIMS <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icims.com\/blog\/why-soft-skills-are-more-important-than-ever-before\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Data<\/a> Since 2018, one in three recruit specialists are now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simplilearn.com\/future-proofing-your-career-why-you-must-upskill-your-soft-skills-article#:~:text=fields%E2%80%94but%20necessary.-,Soft%20skills%20are%20in%20decline,teaching%20soft%20skills%20to%20students.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">It was my thought<\/a> job applicants\u2019 soft skills had gone down in the past five years.<\/p>\n<p>Authority figures seem to be the main culprit.<\/p>\n<p>97% of recruiters believed that parents and colleges needed to do more to help students learn soft skills before they could get a job.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jim Link, CHRO, Randstad America, an Atlanta staff agency, told one story about such a situation.
