Their sources claim that Biden and his team cooperated and that a search warrant didn\u2019t get issued, but that late revelation once again raises the question of what else the White House hasn\u2019t disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, whether the FBI found some of the material rather than Biden\u2019s attorneys:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Two sources close to the investigation claim that the FBI searched the Penn Biden Center offices during November after the lawyers for President Biden found around 10 documents classified there.\u00a0<span class=\"link\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/biden-center-classified-documents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-invalid-url-rewritten-http=\"\">on Nov. 2<\/a><\/span>. The material originated from Mr. Biden\u2019s time as vice president.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear whether FBI personnel discovered any additional classified material or presidential material during their mid-November sweep.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This raises another issue. This is a question that no one has fully answered.\u00a0<em>Why?<\/em> Biden\u2019s attorneys were parsing through the PBC files when they found the material. David Harsanyi questions whether the National Archives or Department of Justice were responsible for the opening of these files. The second point is more controversial.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Biden&#8217;s lawyers weren&#8217;t just innocently putting boxes together for a move and accidentally stepping on classified documents. An agency or law enforcement might have requested the missing document. Full disclosure upfront would have been the best, but if that fails, disclosure at the time CBS News reported the original story. This is what they are doing. They are making it look dishonest and trying to force them to change their story over several news cycles. <em>Worst<\/em> This is a possible strategy for political use. Particularly for a president insisting on taking classified-material security \u201cvery seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The timing doesn\u2019t necessarily mean that the feds initiated this sequence by figuring out that Biden had taken classified material. It does raise a serious question about the DoJ\u2019s role in this now, however. If the FBI needs to conduct a search of a sitting president\u2019s files in relation to potential criminal conduct, that should\u00a0<em>Require<\/em> notification of the relevant congressional committees \u2014 Judiciary especially, but also the committees that oversee the type of classified data involved.<\/p>\n<p>This timeline was made public by a leak. Did the FBI\/DoJ not notify Congress at all? If so,\u00a0<em>Why?<\/em> It was not. Who made that call?<\/p>\n<p>CBS also provides an inventory \u2014 for now, anyway:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In all, federal authorities have recovered between 25 and 30 documents marked classified from the office space and Mr. Biden\u2019s Wilmington home. The material includes classified items and other records from Mr. Biden\u2019s vice presidential and Senate days. Some documents found at\u00a0 the Penn Biden Center were labeled top secret.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This won\u2019t help Biden fight off Congress. Even before this leak was made, Senate Democrats had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/news\/politics\/senate-dems-call-out-biden-admins-stonewall-of-classified-docs-found-at-presidents-home\/ar-AA16Wr2b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden has made it difficult to maintain a good relationship with the people.<\/a> In this scandal:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The Justice Department informed Sens. Marco Rubio, R.Fla. and Mark Warner (D-Va.) were informed by the Justice Department that they were \u201cworking\u201d How to get them \u201cinformation that will satisfy the Committee\u2019s responsibilities,\u201d However, senators seem not to be satisfied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI appreciate the communication. But the subject of the communication doesn\u2019t give me clarity on how and when we\u2019re going to be able to fulfill our obligation,\u201d Warner spoke to Punchbowl News.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow Democrat Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., described the Justice Department\u2019s position as a \u201cstonewall,\u201d Punchbowl: Tell Punchbowl! \u201ca complete non-starter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust from a counter-intelligence standpoint \u2014 one of the most important aspects of national security \u2014 you\u2019ve got to be able to see the documents,\u201d Wyden said. \u201cThis is not a close call.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is likely that more Senate Democrats will demand this revelation.\u00a0<em>Real<\/em> transparency \u2014 and the rest of us to wonder how much more the White House is still hiding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>And \u2026 we\u2019re only finding this out\u00a0Now?\u00a0All the best! \u201ctransparency\u201d that the White House keeps claiming in Joe Biden\u2019s classified-material scandal.
