The bill was introduced by Republicans earlier in the month. This set the stage for a symbolic vote, which lawmakers expect to see vetoed and rescinded by President Joe Biden. <\/p>\n<p><b><a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/house-republicans-introduce-bill-to-end-covid-emergency\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">HOUSE REPUBLICANS INTRODUCE BILL to END COVID-19 EARLY DRAMA<\/a><\/b> <\/p>\n<p>The However, <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.house.gov\/billsthisweek\/20230130\/BILLS-118HR382ih.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bill\u2019s future<\/a> The White House&#8217;s Monday announcement that it would end the COVID-19 public emergency in health on May 11th made this even clearer. Biden&#8217;s administration has debated for years when to end the public-health measures. This is especially since states began to relax their COVID-19 restrictions, and federal funding towards the pandemic decreased. <\/p>\n<p>In January 2020, former President Donald Trump declared an emergency. Since then, it has been repeatedly extended in increments of 90 days. Republicans have repeatedly criticised the Biden administration&#8217;s decision to extend the COVID-19 emergency. They claim that officials did not have the right to do so. <\/p>\n<p>Despite Biden&#8217;s acknowledgment of the pandemic, the White House insists on continuing to extend COVID-19 measures. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/biden-covid-pandemic-over-administration-pandemic-actions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cis over\u201d<\/a> in comments over the past few months. The Biden administration\u2019s announcement on Monday gives health officials just over three months to prepare for the termination of the public health emergency, following through with a pledge from the Department of Health and Human Services to notify states at least 60 days in advance. <\/p>\n<p>Some Republicans, however, are calling for an earlier expiration date. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m glad that my bill finally forced President Biden to act,\u201d <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/guthrie.house.gov\/news\/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=387868\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><\/a> Rep. Brett Guthrie, R-KY, who introduced the legislation. \u201cPandemic Is Over\u201d bill. \u201cThe American people have been living under a COVID-19 public health emergency for three years and should not allow President Biden four more months of emergency powers. Mandatory declarations also required states to provide continuous enrollment for Medicaid, and other public health insurance programs, for low-income individuals. <\/p>\n<p>The vote on \u201cPandemic Is Over\u201d Act is expected to be voted on Tuesday by the House floor in a symbolic vote. The Senate is unlikely not to approve the legislation as Biden has already set a termination date to end the public health emergency.
