My gut tells me we will fight in 2025,\u201d He wrote. \u201cXi secured his third term and set his war council in October 2022. Taiwan\u2019s presidential elections are in 2024 and will offer Xi a reason. United States\u2019 presidential elections are in 2024 and will offer Xi a distracted America. Xi\u2019s team, reason, and opportunity are all aligned for 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Minihan stated that his number one priority was to instill the truth that \u201cunrepentant lethality matters most\u201d He is the leader of 50,000 servicemen.<\/p>\n<p>Pompeo <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/pompeo-highlights-threat-china-air-force-general-predicts-war?intcmp=tw_fnc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Addressed<\/a> Minihan\u2019s remarks during an appearance on Fox News\u2019 \u201cSpecial Report,\u201d saying: \u201cI take General Minihan to be serious, in the sense of he\u2019s clearly very concerned that we\u2019re not doing enough to prepare to deter the Chinese Communist Party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that\u2019s what he was really getting at \u2013 it\u2019s hard to put timelines on any of these things: he says 2025,\u201d Pompeo.\u00a0\u201cBut make no mistake about it, Xi Jinping is watching for American weakness. He\u2019s watching for an absence of resolve. And if he sees opportunity, he will seize that very opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michael McCaul (Republican, Texas) Chairman of House Foreign Affairs Committee stated Sunday that the chances of a conflict in China by 2025 are very likely \u201care very high.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope he\u2019s wrong \u2026\u201d McCaul stated. \u201cI think he\u2019s right, though, unfortunately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to be prepared for this,\u201d McCaul stated. \u201cAnd it could happen \u2026 as long as Biden is in office \u2014 projecting weakness as he did with Afghanistan that led to Putin invading Ukraine \u2014 that the odds are very high we could see a conflict with China and Taiwan and the Indo-Pacific.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Adam Smith is the top Democrat on Armed Services Committee. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2023\/jan\/29\/top-house-democrat-adam-smith-criticizes-generals-\/\">Claim<\/a> The possibility of the U.S. ending up in war with China was a real possibility \u201chighly unlikely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have a very dangerous situation in China, but I think generals need to be very cautious about saying, \u2018We\u2019re going to war.
