It is a death sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Crump last Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/video\/2023\/01\/27\/ben-crump-calls-nichols-video-release-the-blueprint-for-police-accountability-822407\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a> that the Memphis Police Department\u2019s response to the death of 29-year-old black man Tyre Nichols is \u201cthe blueprint for going forward\u201d In the case of black suspects being arrested and charged by police. He means, apparently, firing, arresting and prosecuting police officers based on any half-baked narrative Crump may have put out in the hopes of getting <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/07\/12\/the-loudest-voices-crying-racism-are-always-some-of-the-most-famous-well-paid-black-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a multimillion-dollar settlement<\/a> with the city \u2014\u00a0all before law enforcement has had a chance to release any materials in its own defense.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what allegedly happened in the run-in between Nichols and the police: He was stopped by multiple cop cars on Jan. 7 for, police said, reckless driving; he was pulled from his car, but while officers attempted to subdue him, he broke free and fled the scene; after police were able to apprehend Nichols a second time, he allegedly continued to struggle and multiple cops appear to have taken turns beating him. These details are obvious in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=U3qMJNStpK4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The videos were released<\/a> Friday by the authorities<\/p>\n<p>Crump would like cable news opinions about incomplete footage of a encounter with police to be available, \u201cblueprint\u201d for firing and convicting cops, it might be helpful \u2014\u00a0fair, even \u2014\u00a0to get a little more information beforehand.<\/p>\n<p>Why was it necessary to force Nichols out of his car by police? Why didn&#8217;t he refuse to be detained? What is the police incident report? What does the medical examiner\u2019s report of Nichols\u2019 autopsy say? What does the district attorney\u2019s criminal complaint against the five officers say?<\/p>\n<p>Because we do not have the supporting documents and testimony, we are unable to know any of that information. No incident report, no medical examiner\u2019s report, and no criminal complaint against the police.<\/p>\n<p>To be sure, our stupid media, fully invested in Crump\u2019s cause, dutifully <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2023\/01\/25\/tyre-nichols-independent-autopsy-extensive-bleeding-lawyers-say\/11118897002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> You can find out more at \u201cindependent\u201d Autopsy revealed Nichols to be dead \u201csuffered extensive bleeding caused by a severe beating.\u201d It was further confirmed that \u201chis observed injuries are consistent with what the family and attorneys witnessed on the video of his fatal encounter with police\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>First, it is important to note that there is no such thing &#8220;an&#8221;. \u201cindependent\u201d autopsy. There is only an official autopsy conducted by the state\u2019s medical examiner. Anything else done to the body outside of that is privately funded by a third party \u2014\u00a0in this case, apparently Crump and the Nichols family. They paid for the services before any autopsy report was made public.<\/p>\n<p>Second, Crump has not made those findings public, so they have not been available to the media.
