State officials have tightened restrictions for biologically female prisoners in response.<\/p>\n<p>California has released 47 transgender male prisoners since 2021 &#8220;nonbinary,&#8221; Many of them don&#8217;t even attempt to make themselves females to be transferred into women&#8217;s jails. The state has not yet disclosed the number of male transfers that have targeted female prisoners. However, a legal challenge by female inmates was reviewed by the <em>Washington Free Beacon <\/em>This exposes the alarming real-world effects of California&#8217;s progressive policy.<\/p>\n<p>California prisons have increased restrictions on women&#8217;s movements in California prisons due to the potential for unruly biologically-male inmates. For those times when they have to deal with unruly behavior, guards are now equipped with stronger pepper sprays. Condom dispensers have been installed in women&#8217;s prisons. This is a tacit admission by guards that transgender inmates are sexually assaulting female prisoners. Female prisoners recount guards ignoring reports of sexual assault and rape threats from male inmates\u2014and some say guards punished them for reporting the harassment.<\/p>\n<p>California&#8217;s female prisoners pay the price for its state&#8217;s crimes &#8220;inclusive&#8221; biden administration has pushed a similar agenda to the federal level. In January 2022 the Department of Justice revived a Obama-era policy. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bop.gov\/policy\/progstat\/5200-08-cn-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Encouraged<\/a> Officials in prison to think about &#8220;health and safety&#8221; When deciding where to send transgender prisoners, consider their gender identity.<\/p>\n<p>California Democrats used the same &#8220;health and safety&#8221; Standard when they passed SB132 in 2020. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D.), signed the bill into law in that year. Officially allowing male prisoners to be admitted to women&#8217;s prisons, On January 20, 2021, when the law became effective, the Newsom administration directed the mass distribution condoms inside women&#8217;s prisons. This was in the hope that it would increase sex behind bars.<\/p>\n<p>According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, 1,679 inmates in the state&#8217;s prison system said\u00a0in 2021 that they were transgender, up from just 131 in 2014. A February 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/sbud.senate.ca.gov\/sites\/sbud.senate.ca.gov\/files\/Sub5.archive.2021.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report<\/a>\u00a0The state senator notes that corrections department &#8220;believes that the recent growth in the transgender inmate population is due to agency efforts&#8221; To transfer inmates based upon their choice &#8220;gender identity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The law covers all transgender prison inmates, but only biological males have been granted transfers. None of the 11 women who applied for transfers to male prisons from biological parents has been granted permission by the state.
