The body of the letter continued. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sexologytoday.org\/2016\/01\/do-trans-kids-stay-trans-when-they-grow_99.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Research<\/a> indicates that roughly 60\u201390% of children who identify as transgender, but do not socially or medically transition, will no longer identify as transgender in adulthood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is important to initiate a rigorous scientific discussion on the issue of children with gender problems, to which the Italian Psychoanalytic Society will gladly contribute,\u201d The letter was closed.<\/p>\n<p>Meloni, Italy\u2019s first female prime minister who took office in October 2022, indicated skepticism of radical gender theory during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/world-europe-63351655\">speech<\/a> She spoke in Spain last June and said that she was proud of the speech. \u201cYes to the natural family, no to the LGBT lobby, yes to sexual identity, no to gender ideology \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>International consensus is growing that minors with gender dysphoria must be treated first by psychotherapy and not medical intervention. The Swedish, Finnish, and the Danish health authorities are all aware of this. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/englands-national-health-service-abandons-gender-affirming-model-of-care\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.K.<\/a> After systematic reviews of evidence on cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers, all parties have concluded that there are far more risks than benefits.<\/p>\n<p>It is far from perfect \u201ccompletely safe and reversible\u201d And \u201ca pause button on puberty,\u201d As proponents \u201cgender-affirming care\u201d According to some, children who take puberty blocksers as soon as they feel the urge to, then go on to use cross-sex hormones (which make up the vast majority of the population), will be sterilized. It is not FDA-approved for off-label use.
