Former Dallas Cowboys player, Irvin, decried the black on black incident and even invoked\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/will-smith\">Smith<\/a> Slapping <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/chris-rock\">Rock<\/a> At the 94th Academy Awards 2022<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I know [is] we keep saying it\u2019s not a black-white thing,\u201d \u00a0Irvin said. \u201cYou don\u2019t ever want to see anybody get hit, anybody get beaten like that. But it does hurt a little more because it\u2019s a black man doing it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt hurts man,\u201d He added. \u201cI\u2019m tired of seeing black men fight black men. It\u2019s a blue thing. But we\u2019ve seen it quite a bit this year going way back to Will Smith and Chris Rock stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m just tired of seeing us do it,\u201d Irvin continued. \u201cWe got enough of a fight to get our right perspective and our right place, we don\u2019t need to be fighting each other like this. Please, let\u2019s just stop that, please.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The ESPN hosts shared statistics about Jalen Hurts, the father of Super Bowl-bound Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, earlier in the program. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/watch\/player\/_\/id\/be7be259-fc29-4843-b55c-15d4385a7cd4\">fathers being absent<\/a>\u00a0In the black community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGive some credit to Averion Hurts, who is his father,\u201d Clark said. \u201cWe talk so much about black fathers being in the home. He raised that man to be who he is today.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clark published a later version of the article. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Realrclark25\/status\/1620106415548534785?s=20&#038;t=8cHvO42g0Upk-i9kN3e-QQ\">Clip on Twitter<\/a> that\u2019s gone viral noting that both Super Bowl-bound African American quarterbacks have black fathers who \u201craised great men,\u201d Referring to Patrick Mahomes Sr., Patrick Hurts&#8217; elder brother and Patrick Mahomes Sr. the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPatrick Mahomes Sr, &#038; Averion Hurts are present fathers that raised great men,\u201d The ESPN host tweeted. \u201cThe narrative of the absent black father is pushed through the media. So, let\u2019s remember to push this as well. Salute to you both for changing the narrative. I know Jalen &#038; Patrick appreciate you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Averion Hurts &#038; Patrick Mahomes Sr. were great fathers who raised great sons. Media propagates the narrative of the black absent father. So, let\u2019s remember to push this as well. You both deserve a big thank you for changing the narrative.
