They just don\u2019t. Jennifer McEwen-authored document.<\/span> <span>It would be possible to create an \u201cfundamental right\u201d To abort<\/span> Abortions would be allowed for any reason, even late during pregnancy. A state may require anesthesia to be administered to babies, as a fetus could feel pain as early as 20 weeks after gestation.<\/p>\n<p>Minnesota doesn&#8217;t have such a law.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2023\/01\/28\/minnesota-legislature-passes-bill-to-legalize-abortions-up-to-birth-by-1-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LifeNews:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span>Many amendments that would make H.F. 1 less extreme have been voted down or blocked. The defeated amendments included ones to protect unborn children in the third trimester (with exceptions), to protect against the barbaric procedure known as partial-birth abortion, to provide the option of anesthesia when unborn children can feel pain, and to protect women\u2019s health by requiring that third-trimester abortions take place in a hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Additional bills that expand abortion have been introduced to the Capitol. H.F.91\/S.F. is one such bill. 70, would repeal many laws relating to abortion, including a law protecting infants who survive an abortion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Backers of the bill claim that it will only legalize what is already legal and codify the rest. \u201chuman right\u201d to abortion into law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe PRO Act solidifies Minnesotans\u2019 human rights into state law and is an insurance policy that our rights won\u2019t be taken away by politicians or judges,\u201d Dr. Sarah Traxler is the chief medical officer of Planned Parenthood North Central States.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll I want, and doctors across Minnesota want, is to provide the best care we can to our patients. And by passing the PRO Act into state law, the Minnesota Legislature will allow us to do just that,\u201d In a statement, she said so.<\/p>\n<p>This is surely an obscured interpretation of the Minnesota bill&#8217;s meaning and intent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/minnesota-senate-passes-abortion-bill-opponents-call-most-extreme-nation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Opponents disagree and argue that the bill creates a right for abortion until the moment of birth. Republicans attempted to amend it with \u201cguard rails\u201d The amendments would have prohibited abortions in third-trimester. However, the Democratic majority that was elected recently resisted their amendments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday we are not just codifying <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/politics\/judiciary\/abortion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>Roe v. Wade<\/u><\/a> or Doe v. Gomez, as the author has indicated, we are enacting the most extreme bill in the country,\u201d During debate, Mark Johnson, Republican Senate Minority Leader from East Grand Forks, said so.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Why hide the purpose of this bill if the bill&#8217;s backers are so certain of its morality?
