I think the key thing about the Abrams tank decision was that it unlocked Germans being able to provide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gates stated that there is a problem with the document handling staff, pointing out that Trump, Biden and Mike Pence have been engulfed in recent scandals involving classified documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have a legacy, I think, in Washington of sort of being a guy that sort of fixes sort of dumb problems. Meaning Like stuff \u2014 you\u2019re like, \u201cWhy isn\u2019t this fixed?\u201d Todd continued.\u00a0\u201cSo how would you [fix] this classified document situation that our politics finds itself in, is this something that the bureaucracy should fix? Or is there something more nefarious?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I think \u2013 I think it\u2019s about people being more responsible,\u201d Gates replied. \u201cI think there\u2019s an element of carelessness. In some cases there may be intent to take the documents. I think maybe we ought to look at the way transitions take place, so that there\u2019s a more orderly process for these classified documents.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Todd pointed out that the Pentagon was \u201corderly when it comes to classified documents,\u201d Gates stated that no classified information ever leaves the building.<\/p>\n<p>Gates has taken shots at Biden before over his foreign policy record which many critics claim is disgraceful.<\/p>\n<p>Gates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/video\/2019\/05\/13\/gates_stands_by_statement_that_biden_has_been_wrong_on_nearly_every_major_foreign_policy_question.html\">Warned<\/a> Biden was back in 2019 \u201cwrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.\u201d Gates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/obamas-defense-secretary-biden-has-gotten-a-lot-wrong-trump-got-it-right-on-china\">Listed<\/a> Biden had previously held wrong foreign policy views, and 2021 is a good example.<\/p>\n<p>Gates <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/obamas-defense-secretary-unloads-on-biden-watching-disaster-in-afghanistan-made-me-physically-sick\"><\/a> that\u00a0Biden\u2019s disastrous pullout from Afghanistan made him physically sick to watch because it did not have to be as bad as it was.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WATCH:<\/strong><\/p>\n[embedded content]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Robert Gates, former President Barack Obama\u2019s Secretary of Defense, slammed politicians\u2019 handling of classified information during an interview over the weekend where he also took a shot at President Joe Biden\u2019s handling of the war in Ukraine.
