Should we just continue to raise the limit? Or should we look at what we\u2019re spending?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCarthy replied to Brennan&#8217;s claim that it was about paying off old commitments. \u201cNo, no. Chuck Schumer never passed a budget since he\u2019s been leading. He\u2019s never passed an appropriation bill. Those are the most basic things that Congress should do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe only person who is getting in the way right now, is the president and Schumer,\u201d McCarthy spoke. \u201cThey won\u2019t even pass a budget. They won\u2019t even negotiate. We have now til June. I want to make sure we have something responsible, something that we can move forward on and something that we can balance our debt with.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s exactly what I\u2019ve been asking for,\u201d He concluded. \u201cThe only one who\u2019s playing with the markets right now is the president to have the idea that he wouldn\u2019t talk. Did the president really believe and really all your viewers, do you believe there\u2019s no waste in government? Do you believe there was no waste in that $1.7 trillion? That\u2019s what we were spending just four weeks ago.
