Kennedy, the bill&#8217;s sponsor, stated that transgender surgery for children is a legitimate option. \u201clack sufficient long-term research.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The bill <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox13now.com\/news\/local-news\/bill-restricting-transgender-youth-treatments-passes-house\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Passed<\/a> 58-14 in the Republican-controlled House on Thursday before going back to the Senate, where it was approved again on Friday. \u201cFor me as a mother and a grandmother and as a nurse? I have a vested interest as all of us do in the health and wellbeing of Utah\u2019s children,\u201d Republican Rep. Katy Hall was the sponsor of the bill in Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Spencer Cox, Republican Governor, is not expected to veto bill despite being a Republican. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/utah-governor-vetoes-bill-protecting-girls-sports-state-legislature-moves-to-override-him\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Previous opposition<\/a> to a bill that would have prevented males identifying as females from competing in girl\u2019s sports throughout the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ll see if there are any changes made, but right now we\u2019re not planning to veto either of them,\u201d He said this when he was asked about the bill on transgender people and another related to education.<\/p>\n<p>The bill will be approved by the governor <a href=\"https:\/\/kutv.com\/news\/local\/utah-senate-bill-16-concurrence-house-changes-transgender-measure-surgeries-hormone-treatments-puberty-blockers-youth-teens-children#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Immediately<\/a> go into effect. But, it wouldn&#8217;t stop teenagers already taking cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers from continuing their current treatments.<\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"https:\/\/le.utah.gov\/~2023\/bills\/sbillenr\/SB0016.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Some situations<\/a>Medical professionals could also be sued if they are negligent in administering hormonal treatments.<\/p>\n<p>Democrats and LGBTQ groups opposed to the bill. They claim that transgender practices, which include double mastectomies for teenage girls, are against the law. \u201clife-saving healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Democrats, we stand in firm opposition to any legislation that restricts access to life-saving health care for our most vulnerable youth,\u201d Democrat senators spoke in a group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kuer.org\/politics-government\/2023-01-20\/utah-senate-approves-controversial-transgender-youth-bills\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Statement<\/a>. \u201cAdditionally, we believe everyone should have the ability to amend their birth certificates to accurately display their name and identity without excessive barriers and intrusion from government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee and Montanna are also considering bills to ban pediatric gender transitions. As transgender practices, which can have long-lasting effects, are exploding among minors, these bills will be considered.<\/p>\n<p>At least 776 Mastectomies will be performed between 2019 and 2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/new-insurance-data-reveals-shocking-number-of-minors-obtained-transgender-surgeries\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">were performed<\/a> on teen girls with a gender dysphoria diagnosis ages 13 to 17 in the United States, according to Komodo\u2019s data analysis of insurance claims analyzed by Reuters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Utah is expected to ban transgender procedures on minors after both the state\u2019s House and Senate passed the bill.
