Marco Rubio (R-FL) sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rubio.senate.gov\/public\/_cache\/files\/50bc1af2-3c4d-4930-97eb-8f78f4aebc5e\/4A586B331CB917CD003F924A77D0867B.01.26.23-smr-letter-to-pfizer-re-covid-mutation-research.pdf\">Letter<\/a> Project Veritas published an undercover video this week showing Pfizer&#8217;s official claiming that the company was involved in controversial vaccine research.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-minute video, which has been viewed nearly 20 million times, shows a man identified as Jordon Trishton Walker, Pfizer\u2019s director of research and development, strategic operations \u2013 mRNA scientific planner, claiming that the company is \u201cexploring\u201d How to \u201cmutate\u201d Coronaviruses are so powerful they can \u201ccreate \u2014 preemptively develop new vaccines.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we\u2019re gonna do that though, there\u2019s a risk of like, as you could imagine \u2014 no one wants to be having a pharma company mutating f***ing viruses,\u201d He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/project-veritas-video-pfizer-official-says-firm-considering-ways-to-mutate-virus-via-directed-evolution\"><\/a>.\u00a0\u201cDon\u2019t tell anyone. Promise you won\u2019t tell anyone. The way it [the experiment] would work is that we put the virus in monkeys, and we successively cause them to keep infecting each other, and we collect serial samples from them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-reader-unique-id=\"49\">\u201cYou have to be very controlled to make sure that this virus [COVID] that you mutate doesn\u2019t create something that just goes everywhere,\u201d He added. \u201cWhich, I suspect, is the way that the virus started in Wuhan, to be honest. It makes no sense that this virus popped out of nowhere. It\u2019s bulls***.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rubio replied to the video with a letter addressed to Dr. Albert Bourla chief executive officer, chairman of Pfizer Inc.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI write in response to troubling reports on Pfizer\u2019s intention to mutate the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID) virus through gain-of-function, or \u2018directed evolution,\u2019 as detailed by Pfizer Director of Research and Development, Jordan Walker,\u201d Rubio wrote in his letter. \u201cAs has been proven time and time again, attempts to mutate a virus, particularly one as potent as COVID, are dangerous. If the claims detailed in the video are true, Pfizer has put its desire for profit over the concern of national and global health and must hold itself accountable.\u201d<br data-reader-unique-id=\"16\" \/>\u00a0<br data-reader-unique-id=\"17\" \/>\u201cIn a video released by Project Veritas on January 25, 2023, Mr. Walker laid out Pfizer\u2019s plans to develop new vaccines for future variants of COVID by mutating the virus through directed evolution, a process that uses protein engineering to impose natural selection on a living organism or other biological materials, including viruses,\u201d The letter went on. \u201cThough he claimed the research is currently \u2018exploratory,\u2019 he detailed how the research would proceed, such as how scientists would inject the mutated viruses into monkeys and collect serial samples from other monkeys who are infected.\u201d<br data-reader-unique-id=\"18\" \/>\u00a0<br data-reader-unique-id=\"19\" \/>Rubio demanded Pfizer answer these questions.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>What are the current or planned efforts of Pfizer to eradicate the SARS-CoV-2 virus from its infected body?<\/li>\n<li>Pfizer plans to continue the mutation of the SARS CoV-2 virus by gain-of-function or directed evolution research with the goal of creating new vaccines prior to the variant becomes more common in the larger population.<\/li>\n<li>Are federal officials involved in this matter? Please give the names and contact information for these people.<\/li>\n<li>What measures has Pfizer taken in order to prevent the spread of the mutated virus from its laboratory to the wider population?<\/li>\n<li>Is Pfizer collaborating with other biopharmaceutical firms to conduct this research?
