To diffuse the situation and defend President Obama, Sams is calling the press and making television appearances. <\/p>\n<p>As the criticism continues to mount, he as White House press secretary Karinejean-Pierre are working overtime in order to put out flames. <\/p>\n<p>Sams began his work as a spokesperson in 2020. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.legistorm.com\/person\/bio\/177170\/Ian_Charles_Sams.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">worked<\/a> As national press secretary for Vice President Kamala Harris\u2019s presidential campaign. Later, he joined the Biden Harris administration to be a spokesperson on the Department of Health and Human Services&#8217;s response. <\/p>\n<p><b>Richard Sauber is special counsel to President<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Richard Sauber is the president&#8217;s special counsel. The country became aware of his involvement with classified documents handling. <\/p>\n<p>Sauber claimed that using his security clearance, Sauber was able to confirm that he had been authorized to enter the premises. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/white-house-reveals-five-additional-documents-discovered\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">helped facilitate<\/a> The DOJ transferred the third batch classified documents after they were found at Biden&#8217;s Wilmington home on January 12. The other two batches were found at the Penn Biden Center in November 2022 and at the Delaware home in December 2022. <\/p>\n<p>Sauber stated that he acts as counsel for the president but all questions will now need to be directed towards U.S. Attorney Robert Hur who was appointed special counsel by the DOJ to review the documents. Given the GOP&#8217;s victory in Congress, Sauber was expected help with the GOP-led investigation. However, he is likely to change gears after attaching himself to the classified document controversy. <\/p>\n<p><b>Bob Bauer, Biden\u2019s personal attorney<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>Bob Bauer is helping Sauber with legal issues surrounding the documents. Biden&#8217;s personal attorney has given several statements over the past 2 weeks. These statements clarify the details of what happened during the search at Biden\u2019s Delaware residence, where many documents have been discovered. <\/p>\n<p>Bauer previously served as White House adviser to the Obama administration. Biden recently brought him to the documents case. <\/p>\n<p>He was in charge of the document searches up to Jan. 20, but unlike Sauber, he has no security clearance. This has led to some confusion. <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/garland-biden-lawyers-search-classified-docs-draws-criticism\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">heavy criticism from Republicans<\/a> Congress. Jean-Pierre and Sam Bauer have echoed Bauer&#8217;s comments regarding the timeline for discovery. James Comer (R-KY), who has been requesting visitor logs from the Delaware residence \u2014 something the White House has said it does not possess. <\/p>\n<p>In <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/2023-01-10-Letter-WHCO-Biden-confidential-docs.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a letter to Delery<\/a>Comer rejected Biden\u2019s comments on documents found in the former home of President Donald Trump. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Biden spoke candidly regarding his assessment of former President Trump\u2019s handling of presidential records,\u201d Comer wrote. \u201cThe Committee is concerned that President Biden has compromised sources and methods with his own mishandling of classified documents.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Comer also requested a list of classified documents as well as the names and security clearances for all aides involved in searching for these documents. The deadline was Jan. 27, 2007.
