The job is different. The immigration problem is much bigger than it was.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Johnson\u2019s comments highlight how even fellow Democrats have few kind words for DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas\u2019s handling of the border crisis. Biden&#8217;s election has seen more than five million migrants cross the border, which is the largest number of such immigrants ever recorded in American history.<\/p>\n<p>As for advice, Johnson didn\u2019t have much to say. Johnson said that the most important lesson he took from his time in Obama&#8217;s administration was to keep the message on point.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;And so sometimes the essence of the job is repeating over and over again one simple, straightforward message that you want people to hear,&#8221; Johnson stated.<\/p>\n<p>Mayorkas&#8217; handling of the south border has been a matter of grave concern to the House Republicans.
