OpenAI is the creator of ChatGPT Chatbot which has taken the world by storm in multiple sectors.<\/p>\n<p>BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti said \u201cAI inspired content\u201d We will continue to make progress in this direction \u201cenhancing the quiz experience, informing our brainstorming, and personalizing our content for our audience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Peretti assured that humans will continue to be part of the editorial process. However, they will soon be able use computer technology to improve their work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur industry will expand beyond AI-powered curation (feeds), to AI-powered creation (content),\u201d Peretti wrote. \u201cAI opens up a new era of creativity, where creative humans like us play a key role providing the ideas, cultural currency, inspired prompts, IP, and formats that come to life using the newest technologies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The memo was obtained by the Verge <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/1\/26\/23572834\/buzzfeed-using-ai-tools-personalize-generate-content-openai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published it in full<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>News of BuzzFeed\u2019s new direction appears to have been received well on Wall Street. BuzzFeed Inc. shares rose by approximately 150% following The Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/buzzfeed-to-use-chatgpt-creator-openai-to-help-create-some-of-its-content-11674752660\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">broke the story<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>BuzzFeed, which was established in 2006, has carved a niche for itself online with news reporting and listicles. The company has faced many challenges in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, it took steps to reduce its news arm&#8217;s losses of approximately $10 million per year. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/03\/22\/buzzfeed-investors-have-pushed-ceo-jonah-peretti-to-shut-down-newsroom.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to CNBC<\/a>. Peretti announced December 2022, that BuzzFeed would be merging with a special-purpose acquisition company. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/12\/06\/buzzfeed-to-cut-12percent-of-its-workforce.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cut 12% of its workforce<\/a>To be exact, about 180 employees. \u201cweather an economic downturn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT is making headlines all the time, regardless of whether it is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2023\/01\/26\/1151499213\/chatgpt-ai-education-cheating-classroom-wharton-school\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stirring fresh concerns about cheating<\/a> In academic institutions using computer-generated essays, or to generate a speech for the House floor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcwashington.com\/news\/national-international\/member-of-congress-reads-ai-generated-speech-on-house-floor\/3263737\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">advocating for a bill<\/a> To create an American-Israeli artificial intelligence center.<\/p>\n<p>Peretti indicated that BuzzFeed would launch new content in February. This suggests the rise of artificial intelligence as a sign for the media sector.
