While there are many issues plaguing the national party&#8217;s leadership, there is one thing both candidates must deal with: election integrity.<\/p>\n<p>RNC has existed for nearly 40 years\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/11\/04\/if-republicans-win-on-tuesday-thank-the-election-integrity-movement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">unable<\/a>\u00a0To oversee the operation of poll watchers or to litigate elections pursuant to a 1982 consent order. In 1981, Democrats accused Republicans of voter intimidation in a New Jersey governor\u2019s race. After the GOP reached a consent decree from the court, which limited Republican participation in any poll-watching operations, the case was settled. Little did Republicans realize that Dickinson Debevoise, the\u00a0Jimmy Carter\u2013appointed judge behind the consent decree, would prove to be such a partisan; he never let the GOP out of the decree, and repeatedly altered and strengthened it at Democrats\u2019 request. After Debevoise formally retired from the bench, he stayed on for 21 years in senior status, a form of semi-retirement\u00a0allowing judges to keep serving in a limited capacity, and kept enforcing the decree. The agreement was not revoked by an Obama-appointed judge until Debevoise&#8217;s death.<\/p>\n<p>The Democratic National Committee enjoyed a four-decade advantage over Republicans. McDaniel said that after spending some years building and developing poll-watching infrastructure, the RNC could finally operate in the 2022 midterm.\u00a0However, a recent\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/the-rncs-election-integrity-efforts-have-left-much-to-be-desired-i-have-a-plan-to-succeed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">op-ed<\/a>\u00a0Dhillon criticized party insiders for using consent decree as an excuse for The Daily Wire \u201cfor complete legal inaction on just about every front.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Some\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/harmeet-dhillon-lands-endorsements-major-gop-donors-bid-unseat-mcdaniel-rnc-chair\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">major GOP donors<\/a>\u00a0are putting their money behind Dhillon as they lobby for new leadership of the RNC, after McDaniel\u2019s three consecutive terms as chair of the party.\u00a0 McDaniel is likely to be reelected despite some support for Dhillon.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/meridithmcgraw\/status\/1599841046388965376\/photo\/1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">after an endorsement letter<\/a> The RNC circulated last month with the signatures of 107 of its 168 members.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Still, the incumbent chairwoman isn\u2019t taking any chances. During an interview with The Federalist, McDaniel repeatedly praised and defended the RNC\u2019s record in the past election cycle, while also offering next steps for the party regarding election integrity. \u201cWe had three million more Republicans turn out than Democrats,\u201d She made the observation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dhillon also spoke with The Federalist and talked about what has to change on the state and national level regarding the GOP\u2019s election efforts.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Election Integrity must be a year-round operation<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>Back in August 2021, after the RNC\u2019s Committee on Election Integrity released a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/prod-media-assets.protectthevote.com\/media\/document\/news\/Full_Committee_Report_FINAL_for_Distro_w_C_Letter_1633100320_paltkn47.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a>\u00a0The RNC has detailed information about the changes to voting procedures that were made in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/exclusive-report-confirms-2020-cheating-123500306.html?guccounter=1&#038;guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&#038;guce_referrer_sig=AQAAANvdx5O-UqwYHBvBrqHw_wyukoI5TElzLJeIbmazAVRsQllkZEUds89QRGd-HILQjhKzuHphlw2vlqi29mBm9guv1Sp-HGo-FgfvvgBUsrFMlD3bxN9d75zZ2TMBfu1eFBYEzhTYTefH3AjjDLVr1npLPva6xr8vCFaH8HRmUEsq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced<\/a>\u00a0A \u201cyear-round election integrity operation\u201d The new organization would be called the &#8220;Election Integrity Director&#8221;.
