John Kennedy, R.-La., posed the following question during Wednesday&#8217;s Senate Hearing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"speakable\">Judge Charnelle Bjelkengren, of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/us-regions\/west\/washington\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spokane County Superior Court in Washington State<\/a>President Biden appointed her to the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District. Article II entrusts the executive authority in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/person\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the president of the United States<\/a>, listing the powers of executive branch.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Next, Kennedy asked if Bjelkengren\u00a0knew what &#8220;purposivism&#8221; She was unable to answer again. Purposivism, also known as the purposive approach to life, is a philosophy that focuses on the purpose of living. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/politics\/executive\/law\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interpreting the law<\/a> that emphasizes the law&#8217;s purpose \u2014 advocating for judges to enforce the spirit of the law when it contradicts with the text of the law, according to Harvard Law professor John F. Manning, writing in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jstor.org\/stable\/4099461\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">the Columbia Law Review<\/a>.
