(Chip Somodevilla\/Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOur staff reviewed all of the materials in our office and in our residence to ensure that there were no classified materials that left the White House or remained in our possession,\u201d Pence stated to CBS that he had spoken with him on Jan. 10. His lawyer said the subsequent discovery of more files at Biden\u2019s home prompted a more thorough review.<\/p>\n<p>In Biden\u2019s case, classified documents were first found on Nov. 2 at the Penn Biden Center where Biden had a personal office after his term as vice president under the Obama administration. Follow-up searches uncovered more documents on Dec. 20 in the garage of Biden\u2019s Wilmington home, and then in the same property on Jan. 11, Jan. 12, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/more-documents-with-classified-markings-found-at-bidens-delaware-home_5001595.html\">Jan. 20<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Jacob stated that Pence was \u201cunaware of the existence of sensitive or classified documents at his personal residence\u201d Before the search, he hired outside counsel to review records at his Indiana home. \u201cout of an abundance of caution.\u201d Two boxes containing records bearing classified markings were found in the search, as well as two additional boxes. \u201ccourtesy copies of vice presidential papers,\u201d According to the attorney.<\/p>\n<h2>Pence in Spotlight, Now<\/h2>\n<p>Reactions from the Republican side were mixed.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Mike Turner, a Republican from Ohio, chairs the House Intelligence Committee and stated that he will conduct an intelligence review to assess national security concerns. (Andrew Caballero-Reynolds\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/figure>\n<p>Gingrich pointed to questions around these documents, the tens of millions of dollars in Chinese funding to the University of Pennsylvania over the past few years, and a possible connection to the president\u2019s son Hunter Biden, who engaged in foreign business dealings while Biden was the vice president.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that Biden will find that this just keeps growing and that it\u2019s very, very different qualitatively from Mike Pence,\u201d He stated.<\/p>\n<p>It has been maintained by the Penn Biden Center \u201cnever solicited or received any gifts from any Chinese or other foreign entity,\u201d But Gingrich <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/hunter-biden-china-ties-should-be-top-focus-for-biden-special-counsel-gingrich_4982006.html\">said<\/a> He would remain skeptical in the absence of knowing the funding sources of both universities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Biden team has been very secretive,\u201d He stated. \u201cI find it amazing that they can have these multimillion-dollar relationships at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Delaware, and never be forced to tell people where the money comes from, who did it go to, etc. I mean, it is just an astonishing level of influence peddling.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gingrich is seeking answers to many questions regarding the unfolding disclosures of classified files.
