Ron DeSantis signed in April 2022, provides exceptions, including saving the mother\u2019s life, preventing severe and irreversible impairment, and if a not-yet-viable child has a \u201cfatal fetal abnormality.\u201d The law, which amends the existing abortion law, requires reporting on the use and abuse of abortion-inducing drug as well as the possibility that human trafficking was cited as a reason for the termination.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood, along with other abortion advocates, sued June 1, claiming the law violated the state constitution.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5002592\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DSC08413-1200x800-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazy wp-image-5002592 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/themes\/eet\/images\/white.png\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DSC08413-1200x800-1.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\"   style=\"display:none\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5002592 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DSC08413-1200x800-1.jpg\" alt=\"Epoch Times Photo\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a> Outside The Moon, where Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about abortion in Tallahassee on Jan. 22, 2023. (Jackson Elliott\/The Epoch Times).<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThe issue with the right of privacy amendment to the Florida Constitution is not what it says, but rather what it doesn\u2019t say,\u201d Protect Human Life Florida&#8217;s state chair Mark Minck said this in an email sent to The Epoch Times. The Human Life Protection Amendment Amendment is being put on the Florida ballot by the organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, while the Florida Supreme Court wrangles over whether it includes the right to intentionally end another human life, we\u2019ll continue our effort to place clear and unambiguous language in our state\u2019s governing document. Language that recognizes that the right to life of the preborn is God-given, thus unalienable, and shall not be infringed at any state of development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court\u2019s action came a day after abortion supporters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/thousands-attend-vice-president-kamala-harriss-pro-abortion-speech-in-florida_5002574.html\"><span>rallied in Tallahassee<\/span><\/a> The U.S. Supreme Court&#8217;s 1973 decision Roe v. Wade which established a constitutional right of abortion, is being commemorated on the 50th anniversary. The current Court overturned the decision in June in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization case.<\/p>\n<p>The decision raised abortion\u2019s profile as an election issue, as Democrats used it to rally their supporters. The Dobbs decision gave the issue back to the states. She caused controversy by her omission of a reference to the Declaration of Independence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are here together because we collectively believe and know America is a promise. America is a promise. It is a promise of freedom and liberty. Not for some, but for all. A promise we made in the Declaration of Independence, that we are each endowed with the right to liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Be clear: these rights were not bestowed upon us. They belong to us as Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Governor DeSantis said,\u201d Bryan Griffin, Bryan Griffin&#8217;s spokesperson, said the following on Jan. 24, \u201cwe are better when everybody counts. The Florida Supreme Court denied both of Planned Parenthood\u2019s emergency motions asking the Court to block Florida\u2019s law from taking effect. The Court also accepted jurisdiction of the case and set a briefing schedule. From here, we will continue to defend our pro-life protections.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Declaration of Independence enumerates three unalienable rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness\u2014and we stand for all of them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The words\u2019 three\u2019, \u2018life\u2019 and \u201call\u2019 were emphasized in boldface in the press release.<\/p>\n<p>Reps. Dan Crenshaw and Lauren Boebert (R.Texas), Lisa McClain and Lisa McClain (R.Mich.) all lambasted Harris for not including the post in their posts on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>The founder of the Conservative Family Research Council went a little further, wondering if Harris\u2019 gaffe was unintentional or deliberate and noting she also omitted \u201cthe Creator\u201d Taken from her quote.<\/p>\n<p>The Declaration\u2019s text in question, in its second paragraph, reads: \u201cWe hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood\u2019s media office did not respond to an email from The Epoch Times seeking a response about the vice president\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n<p>Harris spoke to about 2,000 people Sunday at The Moon nightclub in Tallahassee, with another thousand outside who couldn\u2019t get in. Sunday marked the 50th anniversary Roe v.
