These charges will not be dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>Fani Willis, Fulton County district attorney, presented her case Tuesday during a hearing regarding whether to release a report from the Atlanta-area panel. The report may include recommendations for indictments as well as other information from the special grand jury\u2019s investigative work. It is possible for a disclosure to occur <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TamarHallerman\/status\/1617923028423430144\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in full or with redactions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to make sure that everyone is treated fairly and we think for future defendants to be treated fairly, it is not appropriate at this time to have this report released,\u201d Willis replied. She also said it to the judge. \u201cdecisions are imminent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Robert McBurney, Judge Superior Court, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DLRKW2TXq6U\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hearing arguments<\/a> On whether the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NormEisen\/status\/1617929970881560576\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report is a presentment<\/a> Georgia law says that it must be released because grand jurors recommend their findings be published. A judge must also decide whether the report should remain confidential. <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/politics-georgia-state-government-disaster-planning-and-response-donald-trump-9fb5f9419c296170631b8a5fa7c6a126\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disclosed publicly<\/a> With or without <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TamarHallerman\/status\/1617923028423430144\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">redactions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A group of media agencies <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fultonclerk.org\/DocumentCenter\/View\/1674\/SPGJ-FILING--BRIEF-OF-MEDIA-INTERVENORS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">filed a brief<\/a> Support the publication of the report. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2023\/01\/24\/georgia-investigation-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">They called it a<\/a> \u201cmatter of profound public interest that goes to the heart of the nation\u2019s democratic forms of government,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2023\/01\/24\/georgia-investigation-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to The Washington Post<\/a>. Tom Clyde, an attorney representing the media intervenors, presented arguments in favor immediate disclosure at Tuesday&#8217;s hearing.<\/p>\n<p>The proceedings were over in 90 minutes. \u201ccircle back\u201d on a decision, and promising to give advance notice if he decides in favor of disclosure.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s attorneys said in a statement they were not attending the hearing Tuesday, noting the former president was \u201cnever subpoenaed nor asked to come in voluntarily by this grand jury or anyone in the Fulton County District Attorney\u2019s office.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg from Georgia were also added. \u201cWe can assume that the grand jury did their job and looked at the facts and the law, as we have, and concluded there were no violations of the law by President Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Willis ordered the special grand jury to be impaneled in May 2022. It had the power to subpoena witnesses, documents, but not indictments. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/georgia-special-grand-jury-submits-trump-probe-report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">completed its work roughly two weeks ago<\/a>. Willis might use the findings for criminal prosecutions by insinuating a regular grand jury.<\/p>\n<p>A number of high-profile witnesses were present before the special grand jury, including Brad Raffensperger (Georgia Secretary of State). Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and Trump\u2019s former personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.<\/p>\n<p>Willis, a Democrat started her investigation after a telephone call recording was discovered in which Trump pressed Raffensperger <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/trump-raffensperger-call-transcript-georgia-vote\/2021\/01\/03\/2768e0cc-4ddd-11eb-83e3-322644d82356_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to \u201cfind\u201d 11,780 votes<\/a>This was sufficient to reverse the state&#8217;s loss of power to Joe Biden. Giuliani and a group of 16 Republicans who served as pro-Trump alternate electors have been designated as targets of the district attorney\u2019s investigation, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/01\/24\/politics\/fulton-county-trump-grand-jury-hearing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Trump defends the right to call it as often as possible <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/109745428818564017\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cperfect\u201d<\/a> Generally rejects any claims of wrongdoing.
