Academics have successfully applied the system to exams often considered difficult by even the world\u2019s brightest students.<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT was performed \u201cat or near the passing threshold\u201d For all three parts of the United States Medical Licensing Exam (a test that doctors with Doctor of Medicine degrees must pass in order to be eligible for medical licensure), without \u201cany specialized training or reinforcement,\u201d One research <a href=\"https:\/\/www.medrxiv.org\/content\/10.1101\/2022.12.19.22283643v2.full\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paper<\/a>. The system also showed \u201ca high level of concordance and insight in its explanations,\u201d It means that \u201clarge language models may have the potential to assist with medical education, and potentially, clinical decision-making.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT was asked open-ended multiple choice questions. The researchers gave ChatGPT forced explanations and two physicians adjudicators scored the answers in respect to accuracy, concordance, insight. ChatGPT scored significantly higher than scores obtained by other artificial Intelligence systems a few months prior. ChatGPT also performed better than PubMedGPT. \u201ctrained exclusively on biomedical domain literature,\u201d And landed \u201ccomfortably within the passing range\u201d Scores<\/p>\n<p>Another research found that the system scored passing marks on the multiple-choice section of the Bar Exam. <a href=\"https:\/\/deliverypdf.ssrn.com\/delivery.php?ID=907117081025009125100016011064116072026032046009065078108120103067127124070085006025032052096126039015001113026021093004096114042057064008052099083086014119008073003058041083070080066066021073084090121003079103031028085000100119065127022066095085074&#038;EXT=pdf&#038;INDEX=TRUE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">paper<\/a>. Humans with seven years of postsecondary education and exam-specific training only answered 68% of questions correctly; ChatGPT achieved a correct rate of 50.3%, while the model\u2019s top two and top three choices were right 71% and 88% of the time, far exceeding the baseline guessing rate.<\/p>\n<p>ChatGPT was the conclusion of the researchers. \u201csignificantly exceeds our expectations for performance on this task\u201d It was also noted that the rank-ordering possible choices confirms \u201cgeneral understanding of the legal domain\u201d The system reflects this.<\/p>\n<p>Although the discussion about technological unemployment has been centered on the loss of blue-collar employees to automated robotics solutions over the past decades, ChatGPT has brought up similar questions for white-collar professionals. ChatGPT has been used by many knowledge workers in a variety of capacities. A majority (27%) of the professionals working at prominent technology and consulting firms have used it. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fishbowlapp.com\/insights\/chatgpt-sees-strong-early-adoption-in-the-workplace\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">survey<\/a> Fishbowl<\/p>\n<p>Similar studies are being done in the areas of difficult legal and medical licensure exams. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/mass-market-artificial-intelligence-chatgpt-passes-elite-business-school-exam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">project<\/a> which examined the performance of ChatGPT on a graduate-level operations management test at the University of Pennsylvania\u2019s Wharton School. Professor Christian Terwiesch stated ChatGPT scored between B and B on a final exam that is usually given to MBA students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt does an amazing job at basic operations management and process analysis questions including those that are based on case studies,\u201d He wrote. \u201cNot only are the answers correct, but the explanations are excellent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Terwiesch stated that ChatGPT&#8217;s performance still had some shortcomings.
