It was produced with a budget of between $350- $460 million. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/tvshowbiz\/article-11665355\/James-Cameron-director-three-films-2-BILLION-following-Avatar-2-success.html\">according to<\/a> The Daily Mail<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Cameron\u2019s other films \u201cAvatar\u201d 2009 \u201cTitanic\u201d In 1997, the United States also earned more that $2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In the larger world of film, surpassing $2 billion in revenue doesn\u2019t happen often. There were other films that earned that amount of money. \u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d (2019) The company earned just below $2.8 billion from a budget that was $356-400 million. \u201cStar Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) which earned $2 billion with a budget of $306 million, and \u201cAvengers: Infinity War\u201d (2018). The company also earned $2Bn on a budget between $325 and $400 million.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron declared the \u201cAvatar\u201d If enough people purchased tickets, the franchise could continue \u201cThe Way of Water.\u201d To avoid continuity issues relating to child actors appearing too grown-up, the director stated that scenes were already shot for the third and fourth installments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOtherwise, you get \u2014 and I love \u2018Stranger Things\u2019 \u2014 but you get the \u2018Stranger Things\u2019 effect where they\u2019re supposed to still be in high school [but] they look like they\u2019re 27,\u201d Cameron said the following to Entertainment Weekly. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/james-cameron-already-shot-avatar-3-and-4-to-avoid-stranger-things-effect-teens-who-look-like-theyre-27\">reported<\/a>. \u201cYou know, I love the show. It\u2019s OK, we\u2019ll suspend disbelief. We like the characters, but, you know.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During another interview, Cameron said he wasn\u2019t even sure \u201cThe Way of Water\u201d It would make a big splash at the box-office like the first \u201cAvatar\u201d did. The Canadian filmmaker realized that the entire thing was a gamble, given the time between the original and sequel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s skepticism in the marketplace. Can anybody even remember the characters\u2019 names? We\u2019ll see what happens after this film,\u201d He <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-features\/james-cameron-interview-avatar-the-way-of-water-franchise-future-1235271483\/\">told<\/a> The Hollywood Reporter, November.<\/p>\n<p>This gamble has paid off big.
