ESPN reports that it is a topic being discussed by the entire league because of the &#8220;assumption&#8221; Brittney Griner, a former Russian convict who returned to the WNBA in 2011, will be able to play. &#8220;will need to fly privately due to security concerns.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Griner was detained in Moscow on February 2022 for drug smuggling. Griner was subsequently convicted, and sentenced to nine year imprisonment. The NBA,\u00a0which makes money because people like to watch it,\u00a0subsidizes the women&#8217;s league in the name of equity. To save money, WNBA players often travel on commercial airlines.
