Raphael Warnock (D., Ga.), who received a lucrative monthly housing allowance from his church during his first term in the Senate, will soon reside in a luxurious Capitol Hill townhouse as tenants of his ministry\u2019s low-income apartment building continue to live in squalor.<\/p>\n<p>Warnock&#8217;s $1,149,000 Washington, D.C., property that he bought Jan. 4, appears out of his means at first. According to real estate records, Warnock took out a $549,000 loan for the property. This means that Warnock paid a huge $600,000. down payment. Warnock owned assets valued between $654,000 and $1,353,000 at the end of 2021, the bulk of which was tied up in his church\u2019s pension plan. According to his financial disclosures, he also owed Atlanta&#8217;s home $600,000.<\/p>\n<p>Warnock was also a beneficiary of a tax-free $7,417 monthly housing allowance, which he received in 2021 from Ebenezer Church. He continues to preach at times. The church also <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/pests-filth-and-killer-elevators-inside-raphael-warnocks-secret-low-income-apartment-building\/\">owns<\/a> A pest-infected apartment building that was subsidized in Atlanta. Residents were evicted during the pandemic. The rent for the past-due amount of $28.55 was all it cost. <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/raphael-warnocks-church-pays-for-his-home-its-also-trying-to-evict-the-poor-from-theirs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ebenezer Baptist Church structured Warnock&#8217;s housing allowance as an employment benefit so that he could bypass the Senate\u2019s $29,595 outside income limitation in 2021. It\u2019s not known at this time if the church helped finance Warnock\u2019s new Capitol Hill townhouse. Ebenezer didn&#8217;t respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Warnock\u2019s new home is situated less than two miles away from the Capitol and comes equipped with a brand-new gourmet kitchen, a wine refrigerator, and a private backyard patio. It has its own living room, bedroom, and bathroom.
