Hutchins was shot to death on the New Mexico location in October 2021. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/entertainment\">scene rehearsal<\/a> Baldwin was holding a gun when a bullet struck it. Baldwin claims that he did not pull the trigger. A forensic FBI report was however available. <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/gun-rust-shooting-fired-pulling-trigger-fbi-report\/story?id=88311336\">concluded<\/a> The fatal shooting occurred because the trigger was not pulled.<\/p>\n<p>Melina Spadone is an attorney for Rust movie productions LLC. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/entertainment\/rust-continues-production-alec-baldwin-lead-role-following-involuntary-manslaughter-charges\">told<\/a> Fox News Digital: The movie is \u201con track to be completed with Mr. Baldwin in the lead role and Joel Souza as director.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hutchins was killed by the same bullet as Souza. Souza was injured and later released from hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Spadone stated that the project would also include \u201con-set safety supervisors and union crew members, and will bar any use of working weapons or any ammunition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Filming won\u2019t take place in New Mexico, however, as Spadone previously told the news outlet. She stated that producers were \u201cconsidering other locations, including in California, but no decisions have been made.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Baldwin\u2019s lawyer, Luke Nikas, slammed the charges brought against his client.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis decision distorts Halyna Hutchins\u2019 tragic death and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice,\u201d In a statement, the attorney stated.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun \u2013 or anywhere on the movie set,\u201d The statement has been added. \u201cHe relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>These charges can result in up to 18 months prison time. Baldwin could be sentenced to up to five years in prison if convicted of the charges.<\/p>\n<p>Hutchins\u2019 family also released a statement thanking the Santa Fe Sheriff and the District Attorney for deeming the incident worthy of charges being filed, especially due to the \u201cconscious disregard for human life.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur independent investigation also supports that charges are warranted.
